　一　七月二日夕七時打無程地震最初ハ少しゆり初メ
　　　直ニ烈しくゆり出し中々御小屋、居兼庭江
　　　はたしニて欠出し候処兼募り鴨居天井壁等
　　　落候故大小を抱へ御小屋御蔵前又ハ廣き場所
　　　へ走出候処御米蔵屋根瓦瀧の如く落西小屋御小

一　七月二日夕方七時頃、地震が起こった。最初は少し揺れ始め、すぐに激しく揺れ出したので、とても小屋にはいられず、庭へ飛び出したところ、ますます激しくなり、鴨居・天井・壁などが落ちてきたため、大小（刀）を抱えて、御小屋や御蔵の前、または広い場所へ走り出した。そこで御米蔵の屋根瓦が滝のように落ち、西小屋・御小屋並びに下【棟？】が短時間で揺れ倒され、外に出たものの

1. On July 2nd at around 7 o'clock in the evening, an earthquake occurred. At first it began shaking slightly, then immediately started shaking violently, making it impossible to remain in the quarters. When we rushed out to the garden, the shaking intensified further, and the lintels, ceilings, and walls began falling. Clutching our swords (daisho), we ran out to the front of the quarters and storehouses, or to open spaces.
