【中巻・初丁表】
『新篇塵劫記』中巻は、商実法（しょうじつほう）の法をもって実（じつ）を除乗（じょじょう）するところを、朱（しゅ）と墨（すみ）と白字（はくじ）とを用いて色分けし、私（わたし）のような不案内な人にも伝えやすいよう工夫したものである。
ところが、算術の道を知らぬある人物が、私の書を書き写して板木（はんぎ）に起こし、私の名前を借りてこれを売り、その朱（しゅ）の部分を墨（すみ）に変えてしまった。これは誠に大きな誤りであるが、世を渡る人々はその誤りに気づかず、これを求めて購っている。これが後世の助けとなるために、今ここに新刊を世に広めるべきである。 光由（花押）〔角形朱印〕

The middle volume of the *Shinpen Jinkōki* was devised using the method of *shōjitsu-hō* (the method of quotient and dividend) to perform division and multiplication of the *jitsu* (dividend/real number), with color-coding in red (*shu*), black (*sumi*), and white characters (*hakuji*), so as to make it easy to convey even to someone as unlearned as myself.
However, a certain person who did not know the way of arithmetic copied my book, had it cut onto woodblocks, borrowed my name to sell it, and changed the red (*shu*) portions to black (*sumi*). This is truly a grave error. Yet people going about their lives in the world do not notice this mistake and seek out and purchase these copies. In order that this [correct edition] may serve as an aid to posterity, I shall now spread this newly published edition throughout the world.
