**寛政二年（1790年）戌年**
**二月十七日**、中根靱負より以下の書付が渡され、役筋支配の者へ申し聞かせておくよう指示があったので、それぞれに申し渡した。
一、御家老が御名代（代理）として御寺（菩提寺等）へ参詣される際、これまでは各々が詰めていたが、今後はこれを取りやめること。
一、御徒目付については、これまで通り一人ずつ罷り越すこと。
一、毛屋（もや）の渡し舟・御渡舟については今後取りやめ、大橋をご通行なさる予定であること。
一、大安寺・天龍寺・安波賀・大長院へご参詣の節、お供廻りの者へ弁当を下される儀については、御倹約の御年限中は取りやめること。
一、御鷹野（鷹狩り）の節、お供の面々はこれまで通り蓑（みの）を着用するよう、それぞれに聞かせること。

但し、御中老が御代拝の節に御寺へ御徒目付が罷り出ることも、今後は取りやめる旨、同月二十日に右同人（中根靱負）より申し聞かされたので、その旨を御徒目付へ申し渡した。

**四月二十一日**、右同人（中根靱負）より申し聞かされたことには：年始の御祈祷の節、熨斗目（のしめ）着用の儀については、思し召しをもって取りやめるよう仰せ出されたとのこと。左様に心得、また支配の内で熨斗目を着用する者へも申し聞かせるよう指示があったので、それぞれに申し達した。

**六月四日**、磯野多宮より申し聞かされたことには：別紙の通り仰せ出されたので左様に心得るよう。今後、前田彦次郎が御講談を申し上げる節は、別紙の面々が罷り出るよう仰せ出された。もっとも、思し召しをもって仰せ出されたものではなく、正徳年中の御例をもって仰せ出されたものであるから、その段を心得るよう。

**八月二十二日**、多賀谷権兵衛より以下の書付一通を心得のため渡された。
例年、武芸御覧（武芸の上覧）が仰せ出される節、末の番外以上の役付きの面々は罷り出るに及ばないので、（上覧への）立て附（立ち合い）も申し込まないこと。もっとも、右の内で無役の面々は罷り出ること。これまた役付きの面々が（武芸）御覧になられる際は……（以下次ページへ続く）

**Kansei 2nd Year (1790), Year of the Dog**
**17th day of the 2nd month:** Nakane Yukinori presented the following written notice and instructed that it be communicated to those under the supervision of the relevant offices; accordingly, each was duly notified:
1. When a Senior Councillor (*karō*) attends a temple as a proxy representative (*nadai*), the practice of each official attending and standing by shall be discontinued henceforth.
2. Regarding the foot inspectors (*okachi-metsuke*): they shall continue to proceed one at a time, as before.
3. The use of the ferryboat at Moya (*Moya no watashi-bune*) and the official ferry shall be discontinued henceforth; passage is to be made via the Great Bridge (*Ōhashi*).
4. During pilgrimages to Daianji, Tenryūji, Anwaga, and Daichōin, the practice of providing boxed lunches (*bentō*) to those in the accompanying escort retinue shall be suspended for the duration of the period of retrenchment (*ken'yaku no nengen*).
5. During falconry excursions (*o-takano*), those accompanying as escorts shall wear straw rain capes (*mino*) as before; each party shall be so informed.

Addendum: Regarding the foot inspectors (*okachi-metsuke*) proceeding to the temple when a Middle Councillor (*chūrō*) attends in place of another as proxy worshipper (*daihai*): this too shall be discontinued henceforth. This was communicated by the same person on the 20th of the same month, and accordingly the foot inspectors were so notified.

**21st day of the 4th month:** The same person (Nakane Yukinori) communicated the following: Regarding the wearing of *noshime* (a formal patterned garment) during New Year prayers, it has been decreed — in accordance with His Lordship's expressed wishes — that this practice be discontinued. Please understand this accordingly, and furthermore communicate this to those within one's supervisory charge who wear *noshime*, as instructed. Each was so notified.

**4th day of the 6th month:** Isono Tamiya communicated the following: As decreed in the attached document, please understand and comply accordingly. Henceforth, when Maeda Hikojirō presents a lecture (*kōdan*), the persons listed in the attached document are to attend. Note that this was not issued based on His Lordship's personal wishes, but rather in accordance with the precedent established during the Shōtoku era; please bear this in mind.
