現代語訳
一 十一月二十四日 ご容体がよろしくないため、京都の医師有馬涼及にご依頼したいということで、使者松原善左衛門（矩成）を早馬で京都へ派遣した。善左衛門は今日福井を出発した。
一 同月二十六日 右と同様の理由で、使者彦坂又兵衛（重庸）を江戸へ派遣し、老中土屋相模守（政直）殿へ報告し、また一門の方々へもお知らせした。又兵衛は今日福井を出発した。
一 同月二十八日 京都の医師有馬涼及が今日福井に到着した（旅宿は京町の駒屋善右衛門）。すぐにお座所に参上してご容体を診察し、お薬を差し上げた。
一 同月 ご病気のご平癒を祈祷するお札やお守りが、家中並びに諸役人、末々の扶持人、町や在郷の者、さらに寺社に至るまで、次々と奉納された。
一 十二月三日 華蔵寺において、去る朔日の暁から今朝まで高照院様十七回忌のご法事が執り行われ、瑞源寺でも今日ご法事が執り行われた。
なお谷中南泉寺でもご法事が執り行われた。
一 同月七日 ご病気の趣を中務大輔（昌勝）様をはじめ一門の方々にお知らせしたところ、医師一人を国許へ派遣していただけるよう、右の方々から老中まで願い出られた結果、願いの通り医師長嶋道仙が派遣される旨仰せ出された。

• November 24th: Due to his poor condition, [the lord] wished to request the services of Kyoto physician Arima Ryōkyū, so messenger Matsubara Zenzaemon (Norinari) was dispatched to Kyoto by express horse. Zenzaemon departed Fukui today.
• November 26th: For the same reason as above, messenger Hikosaka Matabei (Shigeyō) was sent to Edo to report to Elder Tsuchiya Sagami-no-kami (Masanao) and to inform the branch family members. Matabei departed Fukui today.
• November 28th: Kyoto physician Arima Ryōkyū arrived in Fukui today (lodging at Komaya Uemon's in Kyōmachi). He immediately went to the lord's quarters, examined his condition, and provided medicine.
• Same month: Prayer tablets and amulets for the recovery from illness were successively offered by retainers, various officials, stipend recipients of all ranks, townspeople and rural residents, and even temples and shrines.
• December 3rd: At Kezōji temple, the 17th memorial service for Lord Kōshōin was conducted from dawn of the 1st until this morning. A memorial service was also held today at Zuigenji temple.
Note: A memorial service was also conducted at Nansenji temple in Yanaka.
• December 7th: When the illness was reported to Nakatsukaedaiyū (Masakatsu) and other branch family members, they petitioned through to the Elders that a physician be sent to the domain. In accordance with their request, it was announced that physician Nagashima Dōsen would be dispatched.
