一 十二月十六日 公儀御医師長島道仙が福井に到着した（旅宿は下呉服町の発坂屋）
直ちに御使番を派遣して同道で道仙を御座所へお越しいただいた。その際、御玄関式台まで御家老・御奏者番が出迎え、鉄砲之間・御次・囲炉裏之間には高知の面々、表長囲炉裏之間には寄合・触頭・町奉行・御奉行・御目付が控えた。道仙は御居間に通され、御脈を拝見し御薬を差し上げた。
なお今日より毎日道仙が御座所にお越しになり脈診察を行うこととなった。
一 同日 前述の件につき御礼のため、御使者寄合高田浅右衛門（一氏）を江戸表へ派遣し、今日福井を出発した。
ただし浅右衛門の江戸到着日は不詳、正月二十二日に御返書の御渡しがあった。
一 同月二十二日 長島道仙の御薬を一通り御服用されたところ、相応の効果があり少々御快復されたため、この段を御報告し、また道仙にしばらく逗留していただきたい旨を御願いしたいとの御口上を仰せ含められ、御小姓頭奥田平右衛門を江戸表へ派遣し、中務大輔（昌勝）様を始め御一門様方ならびに土屋相模守（政直）殿・彦坂壱岐守（重綱）殿へ申し上げた。
一 同月二十九日 歳暮の御祝儀として御使者を通じて例年通り御小袖を献上し、白銀を差し上げた。

- December 16th: The official court physician Nagashima Dōsen arrived in Fukui (lodging at Hassaka-ya inn on Shimogofukumachi street).
Immediately, a messenger was dispatched to escort him to the lord's residence. At that time, the karō and sōshaban came out to greet him at the entrance platform of the main gate. The high-ranking retainers gathered in the Gun Room, antechamber, and hearth room, while the yoriai, village headmen, town magistrates, commissioners, and inspectors waited in the front hearth room. Dōsen was led to the lord's private quarters where he examined the pulse and administered medicine.
Note: From today, Dōsen will visit the lord's residence daily for pulse diagnosis.
- Same day: As thanks for the aforementioned matter, messenger and yoriai Takada Asaemon (Kazuuji) was dispatched to Edo, departing from Fukui today.
Note: Asaemon's arrival date in Edo is unknown; a reply letter was delivered on the 22nd of the first month.
- Same month, 22nd: After taking a full course of Nagashima Dōsen's medicine, there was appropriate improvement and the lord felt somewhat better. This progress was reported, and a verbal message was conveyed expressing the desire to request that Dōsen stay a while longer. Koshō-gashira Okuda Heizaemon was dispatched to Edo to communicate this to Nakatsukasakarite (Masatatsu)-sama and other family members, as well as to Tsuchiya Sagami-no-kami (Masanao)-dono and Hikosaka Iki-no-kami (Shigetsuna)-dono.
- Same month, 29th: For year-end congratulations, kosode robes were presented through a messenger as customary, and silver was offered.
