鯰（なまづ）一統（いつとう）江｜申（まうし）渡（わたし）の事
一 鯰（なまづ）どものぎは神代（じんだい）より申 觸（ふら）しおき候｜通（とほ）り
九ハやまひ五七が雨（あめ）に四ツ日（ひ）でり六ツ八ツ
ならば風（かぜ）としるべしとの御（ご）詠（らい）哥（か）を守（まも）り
時候（じこう）不順（ふしゆん）の折（をり）を見合（みあは）せ質素（しつそ）に渡世（とせい）
いたすべきところ諸神（しよじん）出雲（いづも）御旅行（ごりよこう）の
留守（るす）を見込（みこみ）先例（せんれい）の掟（おきて）を背（そむ）き御府内（ごふない）
近在（きんざい）を乱妨（らんぼう）致（いた）し家（いへ）蔵（くら）身体（しんだい）をゆすりちらし候
のみならず同類（どうるい）の出火（しゆつくわ）をさそひ格別（かくべつ）の風（かぜ）とても
無之（これなき）に数ヶ所（すかしよ）焼（やき）拂（はら）ひ候 段（だん）八百万（やほよろづ）の神（かみ）を恐（おそ）れざる
いたしかたぬら地（ち）主（しゆ）極（ごく）に付四ツ手（で）をもつて一疋（いつひき）も
洩（もら）さずすくひ揚（あ）げ蒲焼所（かばやきじよ）に於（おい）て
骨抜（ほねぬき）の上（うへ）火（ひ）あぶりにも行（おこな）ふべき所
格別（かくべつ）の御神威（ごじんゐ）をもつて神国（しんこく）一圓（いちゑん）追放（ついはう）
仰付（おゝせつけ）らるゝものなり然（しか）る上（うへ）は此（この）後（ご）
御（お）かまひの場所（ばしよ）へ立寄（たちより）いさゝかなりとも
いたぶりがましき義（ぎ）有之（これある）に於ては
早速（さつそく）に要石（かなめいし）をもつて取（とり）押（おさ）へ引（ひき）さき候 上（うへ）
酒（さけ）の肴（さかな）に喰（く）ふべきもの也

現代語訳
鹿島神託所より鯰一統への申し渡しの事
一、鯰どもの行いは、神代より申し伝えられている通り、「九は病気、五七が雨に四つ日照り、六つ八つならば風」と知るべしとの御詠歌を守り、時候不順の折を見合わせて質素に世渡りをするべきところ、諸神出雲御旅行の留守を見込んで、先例の掟に背き、御府内近在を乱暴し、家蔵や身体を揺すり散らした。それのみならず同類の出火を誘い、格別の風でもないのに数か所焼き払った段、八百万の神を恐れないやり方は、ぬらぬらした地主として極悪につき、四つ手網をもって一匹も漏らさずすくい上げ、蒲焼所において骨抜きの上火あぶりにも行うべきところ、格別の御神威をもって神国一円追放を仰せ付けられるものである。そうである上は、この後お構いの場所へ立ち寄り、いささかなりともいたぶるがましい行為があるにおいては、早速に要石をもって取り押さえ引き裂いた上、酒の肴に食うべきものである。

Proclamation from Kashima Divine Oracle to All Catfish
Item: Regarding the behavior of the catfish, which according to traditions passed down since the age of the gods should follow the sacred poem stating "nine brings illness, five-seven brings rain, four brings drought, six-eight brings wind," and should conduct themselves modestly while observing irregular weather patterns. However, taking advantage of the absence of the various deities during their journey to Izumo, they violated ancient rules and caused violent disturbances in and around the capital, shaking houses, storehouses, and people's bodies. Not only that, they also incited fires among their kind and burned down numerous locations without any particular wind. For this extremely wicked behavior as slimy landlords who fear not the eight million gods, they should be caught without exception using four-handed nets and subjected to bone removal and fire roasting at the eel-grilling establishments. However, by special divine authority, they are hereby banished from the entire divine realm. Therefore, should any of them hereafter approach the designated areas and engage in even the slightest tormenting behavior, they shall be immediately suppressed with the keystone, torn apart, and consumed as drinking accompaniments.
