大和本草に五六月に生するをさまつたけと云 味（あしはひ）劣（おと）れりといへり
皇和蕈譜に五月生して秋の蕈（たけ）より大ひなり然（しか）れとも香味及
はす或は云 小毒（せうとく）あり肥前地方にてつちかむりといふといへり菌
史に又早まつたけあり六七月間山中松樹の間多く生す形
状気味 全（まつた）く松（まつ）たけに然（しか）るなり亦松気をかりて成るところ

現代語訳
【右丁】
さまつたけ
『大和本草』に「5、6月に生するものをさまつたけという。味が劣っている」と言っている。『皇和蕈譜』に「5月に生じて秋の茸より大きい。しかしながら香味は及ばない。あるいは小毒があると言う。肥前地方では『つちかむり』という」と言っている。『菌史』にまた早松茸があり、「6、7月の間、山中の松の木の間に多く生える。形状や気味は全く松茸に似ている。また松の気を借りて成長するところも同じであるが、毒があり人を害する。疑わしいものをよく調べるべきである。似ているものは慎んで食べてはならない」と言っている。

Sama-matsutake
"Yamato Honzō" states: "Those that grow in the 5th and 6th months are called sama-matsutake. Their taste is inferior." "Kōwa Kinfu" states: "Grows in the 5th month and is larger than autumn mushrooms. However, its fragrance and taste do not compare. Some say it has slight toxicity. In the Hizen region it is called 'tsuchi-kamuri.'" "Kinshi" also mentions early matsutake: "During the 6th and 7th months, they grow abundantly among pine trees in the mountains. Their form and taste are exactly like matsutake. They also develop by borrowing the essence of pine, but they are poisonous and harm people. One should carefully examine suspicious ones. Similar-looking ones should be avoided and not eaten."
