罷越候未男子無御座候付

私は今度領地へのお暇をいただき
参ります際、男子がおりませんので、
領地に滞在している間にもし万が一のことが
ございましたら、御小姓組高木筑後守組の
内藤甚十郎の弟である内藤留五郎（当年丑年で
十歳になります）は血縁者ではございませんが、
同姓でございますので、この者を養子に
お認めいただき、跡目相続をお許しいただきますようお願い申し上げます。以上

I have received permission to return to my domain,
and as I have no male heir,
should any unforeseen circumstances
occur while I am residing in my domain, I request that
Naitō Tomegoro, younger brother of Naitō Jinjūrō
of the Takagi Chikugo-no-kami group of the Pages (Gokoshōgumi), who is
currently ten years old in this year of the Ox, though not a blood relative,
shares the same family name, and I humbly request that
this person be appointed as my adopted son and
granted succession rights. The above.
