罷越候未男子無御座候付
在所罷在候内若不慮之儀茂
御座候者御小姓組菅沼伊賀守

私は今度在所へ御暇をいただき
参りましたが、男子がおりません。
在所に滞在している間に、もし不慮の事態が
起こった場合には、御小姓組菅沼伊賀守
組の内藤甚十郎の弟である内藤留五郎（当年卯年で
十二歳になります）は血縁関係はございませんが、
同姓でございますので、この者を養子に
お認めいただき、跡式をお与えくださいますよう願い上げます。以上
寛政七年（乙卯年）

I have this time received permission to return to my domain.
As I have no male heir,
should any unforeseen circumstances
occur while I am staying in my domain, I request that Naito Tomegoro,
the younger brother of Naito Jinjuro of the Suganuma Iga-no-kami unit
of the Pages (Okosho-gumi), who is currently twelve years old in this year of the Rabbit,
though not a blood relative,
shares the same family name, be appointed as my
adopted son and granted succession rights.
