右三人之者共性質貞実成者にて差働も有之
家事取締方も宜逢対定日無懈怠出精罷
出諸芸術格別相励罷在往々天晴御立可
申者と奉存候に付右御用人え書上申候右之内
蔵之助儀は曾祖父弥之助并祖父弥之助両人共
奥御奉公数年相勤申候父鶴五郎儀部屋住にて
病死仕右両人結構成御奉公仕候冥加も不奉
報候に付当蔵之助儀御審入取頻志願罷在
候之間可相成は蔵之助儀此度御見出に相成候

右三人の者どもは性質が貞実な者で、働きぶりも良く、家事の取り締まり方も良好で、面会や定められた日には怠けることなく精勤して出仕し、諸芸術も格別に励んでおり、いずれも立派に御立身できる者と存じます。つきましては、右の御用人へ書き上げ申し上げます。
右の内、蔵之助の件は、曾祖父弥之助並びに祖父弥之助の両人とも、奥御奉公を数年間勤め申しました。父鶴五郎は部屋住みで病死いたしましたが、右両人は結構な御奉公をいたしました。その冥加に報いることができておりませんので、当蔵之助が御審査をお受けして頻りに志願しております。可能であれば、蔵之助がこの度お見出しいただけますよう仕たく、御仁恵のほど私に偏にお願い申し上げます。

Recommendation Report to be Submitted to the Goyōnin (Chief Retainer) of His Excellency the Udaishō's Goshoin-ban
Under the supervision of Ōshima Kai-no-kami:
Mizutani Kuranosuke
Sasamoto Hikotarō
Ōno Tōzaburō
These three men are of honest and upright character, work diligently, manage household affairs well, attend meetings and appointed duties without negligence, and are particularly devoted to various arts and skills. I believe they are all men who can achieve distinguished service. Therefore, I submit this report to the aforementioned goyōnin.
Regarding Kuranosuke among the above: both his great-grandfather Yanosuke and grandfather Yanosuke served faithfully in inner palace service for many years. His father Tsurugoro, though living as a dependent son, died of illness. Since these two ancestors performed excellent service but their merit has not been properly rewarded, the current Kuranosuke earnestly wishes to undergo examination and selection. If possible, I would like Kuranosuke to be recognized on this occasion, and I humbly beseech your benevolence in this matter.
