　　　未央柳　群書　　　其樹柳ノ葉ニ五月雨ニ
　　　美陽（ヒヨウ）　地錦抄　　　黄花ヲ開キ六月ニ渡ト云ヘリ
　　　　　　　　　　　　是正ニ美容桺也

現代語訳

『和漢三才図会』木類に曰く
　　美容柳（びょうやなぎ）　正字不詳

『大和本草』に曰く
　　金糸梅　通称　きんしばい
　　《割書：びょうやなぎ》

　　　三才図会に如し。柳に似て、その心に
　　　黄色の鬚（しべ）あり。花の外に敷き散る
　　　金糸の如し。

【花木】

乙酉林鐘十日
涼風半窓写

未央柳　（『群書』より）　その樹は柳の葉に似て、五月雨の頃に
美陽（ひよう）　（『地錦抄』より）　黄花を開き、六月に渡ると云えり。

英語訳

In the "Wakan Sansai Zue" (Japanese-Chinese Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Three Powers), in the section on trees, it says:
　　Biyo-yanagi (美容柳)　The correct character form is unknown.

In the "Yamato Honzō" (Great Japanese Herbal) it says:
　　Kinshibai (金糸梅)　Common name: Kinshibai
　　《small text: Biyo-yanagi》

　　　As illustrated in the Sansai Zue: it resembles a willow, and at its center
　　　has yellow stamens that spread and scatter outside the flower,
　　　like golden threads.

【Flowering Trees】

Kinoto-Tori year, 6th month, 10th day
Drawn with a cool breeze through half-open window

Biyō-yanagi　(from "Gunsho")　Its tree has leaves resembling willow; during the early summer rains it
Biyō (美陽)　(from "Chikinsho")　blooms with yellow flowers, said to continue through the sixth month.
　　　　　　　　　　　　This is indeed the true Biyo-yanagi.
