我等余子よりしてはからすも継嗣
となり家督を続事身の幸尠な
からす爰におゐて猶更家中およひ
領内の政務に昼夜心を用ひ家とゝ
のはん事を希ふといへとも元より届
さる事も有へき歟大法に背さる儀は
曲て宥免を加ふへきなり然とも代々
定置處の令條に障へき不覚悟のもの
有之は其非を糺へし今度改て家法の
条々沙汰に及はさる間寛保二年正月
定置之趣家中一統尚又令承知堅く相守
益謹慎を旨とし水能舩をうかふの譬に
ならひ上下和融し忠勤を励へきもの也

現代語訳
私は余子（次男以下）でありながら、図らずも継嗣となり家督を継ぐこととなったのは、身にとって少なからぬ幸いである。ここにおいて、なお一層家中および領内の政務に昼夜心を用い、家を安泰にすることを願うけれども、もとより行き届かないこともあるであろうか。大法に背かない事柄については、寛大に許免を加えるべきである。しかしながら、代々定め置かれた法令に違反するような不覚悟の者があれば、その非を正すべきである。今度改めて家法の条々について沙汰に及ばないが、寛保二年正月に定め置いた趣旨を家中一統がなお一層承知し、堅く相守り、ますます謹慎を旨とし、水によく船を浮かべるという譬えにならい、上下和融して忠勤に励むべきものである。

英語訳
Though I am a younger son (not the eldest), I have unexpectedly become the heir and succeeded to the headship of the house, which is no small fortune for me. In this position, I wish to devote myself day and night even more to the administration of the household and domain, hoping to maintain the prosperity of our house. However, there may naturally be matters that do not reach perfection. For matters that do not violate the great laws, lenient forgiveness shall be granted. Nevertheless, if there are any thoughtless individuals who would violate the regulations established by successive generations, their wrongs must be corrected. This time, I shall not issue new pronouncements regarding the articles of house law, but all members of the household shall further understand and firmly observe the principles established in the first month of Kanpō 2, making prudence their guiding principle even more, and following the analogy of water supporting a boat well, they shall achieve harmony between superiors and subordinates and strive in loyal service.
