現代語訳

相達すべきである。もちろん、面々が随分と倹約に努め、家計を立て直して勤めを続けることが肝要である。
右の件について、この度仰せ出されたので、各々心得のために申し伝える。

一、三月二十二日、福井を御出発、東海道を通って御旅行

一、同月二十八日、御倹約の件につき、御右筆請込の野本平左衛門に御奉行から左の通り相達した。

「戌年から五か年の間、御倹約が仰せ出され、また今年から五か年の間、最前の通り御倹約が仰せ付けられたことにつき、御役所の切符銀等その外共に、いよいよ面々の御物入が軽くなるよう吟味を遂げ、油断があってはならない。諸役所共に各々申し合わせるべきである。

三月十六日」

一、同月二十九日、御家中養子願いの件につき、左の通り覚書をもって御目付に御家老が申し渡した。

「親類共が安易に養子縁組や婚礼を行おうとする者が相談する際は申し上げるべきである。
親類共に申し合わせておくとも、兄弟・伯母・姪になる筋の者が追って相談しても、向後は御取り上げはしないこと。
昇安院様の御代に仰せ出されたが、差し支え難儀する者もいるように聞こえる。この後は願いを申し上げるべきである。御吟味の上で仰せ付けられるべき旨、享保年中に御目付をもって覚書に記し、それぞれに通達があった。」

This shall be communicated. Of course, it is essential that each person make every effort at frugality and continue their duties while rebuilding their household finances.
Regarding the above matter, since this has been decreed, it is conveyed for everyone's understanding.

1. On March 22nd, departed from Fukui, traveling via the Tōkaidō route.

1. On the 28th of the same month, regarding the matter of economization, the following was communicated from the magistrate to Nomoto Heizaemon, a scribe contractor:

"Economization was decreed for five years starting from the Year of the Dog, and again for five years starting from this year, following the previous pattern. Therefore, regarding office voucher silver and other expenses, examination must be conducted so that everyone's expenditures become increasingly lighter, and there must be no negligence. All offices should consult with each other accordingly.

March 16th"

1. On the 29th of the same month, regarding adoption requests among retainers, the chief retainer conveyed the following memorandum to the inspector:

"When relatives easily arrange adoptions and marriages, those who wish to consult should report this.
Even if arrangements are made among relatives, those who would become brothers, aunts, or nephews through such arrangements, even if they consult later, will not have their requests approved in the future.
This was decreed during Lord Shōan'in's era, but it seems there are those who face difficulties and hardships. Hereafter, requests should be submitted. The principle that approval should be granted after examination was recorded in a memorandum through the inspector during the Kyōhō era, and notifications were sent to all concerned parties."
