一、七月十二日、御老中・堀田相模守（正亮）殿よりお呼び出しがあり、御留守居が罷り出たところ、このたびの御養子のお礼を申し上げる節に、義丸様においても名代をもってお礼を申し上げるよう、書付をもって申し聞かせられた。
松平兵部大輔へ
養子につき申し上げるお礼を申し上げる節、義丸よりも名代をもってお礼を申し上げるようにご心得あるべきこと。右の名代は越前家のうちより差し出すようにすべきこと。この段、心得のため相達し置き候。
一、同日、御老中・堀田相模守（正亮）殿よりのお呼び出しにつき、御留守居が罷り出たところ、去る朔日に差し出した御伺書へ、以下の通り附札をもってご指図があった。

Item: On the 12th day of the 7th month, there was a summons from Senior Councillor Hotta Sagami-no-kami (Masasuke), and the caretaker magistrate [Rusuī] attended. He was informed by written notice that, on the occasion of presenting thanks for the adoption of an heir, Yoshimaru-sama should also present thanks through a proxy representative.
To Matsudaira Hyōbu-no-taifu
When the expression of thanks regarding the adoption of an heir is to be presented, Yoshimaru should likewise offer thanks through a proxy representative. Please be advised accordingly. Said proxy representative should be sent from within the Echizen domain's household. This matter is hereby communicated for your understanding and guidance.
Item: On the same day, in response to a summons from Senior Councillor Hotta Sagami-no-kami (Masasuke), the caretaker magistrate attended. Regarding the inquiry [oukagai-sho] submitted on the 1st day of the previous month, directions were given by means of an attached note [fudasatsu] as follows:
