現代語訳
御座候升、懸にて【そき？】計りに仕り、五斗六升に計り申し候。それにつき【そき？】申さず、釣懸りと為し、五斗三升六合の御定に極まり申し候。
右、当町に升の儀存じの者有るべしと詮議仕り候得ば、両人の者このように申し候。
この外存じ候者無く候。本多浄哲、大谷伊儀左衛門、山名庄介などに相尋ね候得ば、然としたる覚え無く候。関又十郎に相尋ね候得ば、これも確かに存ぜず候。但し越後にては京升計り用い申し候。その升、今に又十郎方に御座候。越後にての儀は儀左衛門同事に申し候。

The measures in question: using hanging [scales] for rough measurement, they measure to 5 to 6 shō. Accordingly, without [rough measurement], using hanging scales, it was established as the official regulation of 5 to 3 shō 6 gō.
When we investigated whether there might be others in this town who know about the matter of measures, these two men spoke as follows.
There are no others who know about this matter. When we inquired of Honda Jōtetsu, Ōtani Igiemon, Yamana Shōsuke and others, they had no clear recollection. When we asked Seki Matajūrō, he also did not know for certain. However, in Echigo they use only Kyoto measures. Those measures are still at Matajūrō's place. Regarding the situation in Echigo, Igiemon said the same thing.
