塁代相続夫々由緒ある家柄数多潰れ
しは遺憾至極之事也
当時迄目出度相続之旧家又中興之先祖たりとも
特別有功之名家は来年之追録に出すべし
且又古代之名家断絶の分も同断書継事
総而吉凶禍福仕合等は過去之業報天災の
不幸等によるへけれど其元は前書に演る比
例の如く一家の主人たるもの心得次第に
よれりとおぼゆされば旧家連綿相続たる
向は一入先祖の功労を言い伝へ家則を不乱
伝来之家産貯蓄之用意に不怠時体
変化之模様を熟知し旧弊を改め時々之
御趣意に不悖様程能節倹を守り益長
久繁栄之基礎を固め可申は勿論之事
又中古以来追々興立一時隆盛成し
家前書比例の如く断滅挙而算へがたし
売家を唐やうで書く三代目
とは古く言伝ふる柳だるの名句成しも
是は固し零落とは言いながら時代古き

劣醜態狡猾之所業等にて身代限りの

代々相続してきた、それぞれ由緒ある家柄が数多く潰れてしまったのは、遺憾至極のことである。
現在まで無事に相続している旧家、また中興の先祖であっても、特別に功績のある名家については、来年の追録に載せる予定である。
また、古代の名家で断絶した分についても同様に書き継ぐこととする。
総じて吉凶禍福や身の上の幸不幸等は、過去の業報や天災による不幸等によるものであろうが、その根本は前に書いた事例のように、一家の主人となる者の心得次第によるものと思われる。従って、旧家で代々相続している家は、なおさら先祖の功労を言い伝え、家則を乱さず、伝来の家産や貯蓄の備えを怠らず、時代の変化の様子をよく理解し、旧弊を改めて、時々の御趣意に背かないよう、程よく節約を守り、ますます長久繁栄の基礎を固めるべきことは、もちろんのことである。
また、中古以来だんだんと興り立って一時隆盛を成した家も、前に書いた事例のように断絶してしまい、全て数え上げることはできない。
「売家を唐様で書く三代目」
とは古くから言い伝えられている川柳の名句であるが、これは確かに零落とは言いながらも、時代の古い風習で上品なものである。だんだん近世に至っては、卑劣で醜い態度や狡猾な所業等によって身代限りとなる

Therefore, old families with continuous hereditary succession should all the more pass down the achievements of their ancestors, not disturb the family rules, not neglect the preparation of inherited family assets and savings, thoroughly understand the conditions of changing times, reform old abuses, maintain appropriate frugality so as not to go against the prevailing policies of each era, and strengthen the foundation for increasingly long-lasting prosperity - this is naturally a matter of course.
Moreover, families that gradually rose from medieval times onward and achieved temporary prosperity have also become extinct as shown in the earlier examples, and it is impossible to count them all.
