御所分受る族多く実に歎ヶ敷事也

一前車の覆るを見て誡とは古人の言ひ置れ
しも近世は惣而製作の器械海陸往来通
運之便利蒸気鉄道之究理馬車腕
車等自由自在悉皆くるまの世界となれは
一入家業に心を尽し軸の真（軫）金丈夫にし

心のくさび打しめて世帯の廻り具合能く正
路に渡世を働きつ輪廻の道を弁へて来
世の鬼車には必乗る事なかれ
分限相応志願之事
一人として夫々相応之望みなきものはなしと
いへる中にも面白き一説あり前書同時代の
丁持挊に我一生之内に渡世第一之道具息
杖の胴かね銀無垢にて拵たしといへるもの
あり人皆分限相応の志を感心せり
現代語訳
お家断絶処分を受ける一族が多く、実に嘆かわしいことである。
「前車の覆るを見て後車の戒めとする」とは古人の言い残したことであるが、近世は総じて製作の機械、海陸往来の交通の便利さ、蒸気機関や鉄道の技術、馬車や人力車等が自由自在となり、すべてが車の世界となったので、いっそう家業に心を尽くし、車軸の心金を丈夫にし、心の楔をしっかりと打ち締めて、世帯の回り具合をよくし、正しい道で渡世に励み、輪廻の道理を理解して、来世の鬼車には決して乗ってはならない。
身分相応の志願のこと
人として、それぞれ身分相応の望みがないものはないと言われる中でも、面白い一つの話がある。前に書いた同時代の町人で、「我が一生のうちに、渡世第一の道具である息杖（呼吸を助ける杖）の胴金を銀無垢で作らせたい」と言った者がある。人々は皆、身分相応の志として感心した。

"Seeing the front cart overturn serves as a warning for the following cart" - this was said by the ancients. However, in recent times, with manufacturing machinery in general, the convenience of sea and land transportation, the technology of steam engines and railways, horse-drawn carriages and rickshaws becoming freely available, everything has become a world of vehicles. Therefore, one should devote even more attention to family business, strengthen the axle's core metal, firmly drive in the wedge of the heart, improve household management, work diligently in an honest livelihood, understand the principles of samsara, and never ride the demon cart of the next world.
Matters of Aspirations Befitting One's Station
It is said that there is no person who does not have hopes appropriate to their respective station in life. Among such cases, there is one interesting story. A townsman from the same era mentioned earlier said, "In my lifetime, I want to have the metal body of the breathing staff, which is the most important tool for making a living, made of pure silver." Everyone admired this as an aspiration befitting one's station.
