　状シギニ類頸似鴿ニ千鳥ノ内ナリ
　最大ニシテ【合字】全身淡赤褐微灰ヲ交ル所
　アリ翅及尾胸淡黒毛ヲ生シテ【合字】羽端白
　ク目淡赤褐色辺白頸ニ白環ヲ貫ク
　腹白觜淡黒足黄ナリ禽戸鳥羽
　ト尾上ノ白文羽ヲサムレハ白一文
　字ヲ引カ如シ頓トホトシキ位ナ
　リ同ク全カキ色少シ灰色ニモノ
　ト云大サ少シヤクヨリ稍小ナリ

　イカルチドリ
　形はシギに似て、首がハトに似ている千鳥の仲間である。
　千鳥の中では最大で、全身は淡い赤褐色で微かに灰色が混じる所
　がある。翼と尾、胸には淡い黒毛が生えていて、羽の先端は白
　い。目は淡い赤褐色で縁は白く、首に白い環を巻いている。
　腹は白く、嘴は淡い黒色、足は黄色である。この鳥は
　尾の上の白い斑紋のある羽を寄せ合わせると白い一文
　字を引いたようになる。とても美しい姿で
　ある。同じく全体が暗い色で少し灰色がかったもの
　もいるという。大きさは少しヤク（尺）より やや小さい。

Ringed Plover
　Ikaru-chidori (Little Ringed Plover)
　In form it resembles a sandpiper, with a neck like a dove, and belongs to the plover family.
　It is the largest among plovers, with the entire body being pale reddish-brown with some areas
　having a slight mixture of gray. The wings, tail, and chest have pale black feathers growing,
　with white tips on the feathers. The eyes are pale reddish-brown with white edges, and it has a white
　ring around the neck. The belly is white, the bill is pale black, and the feet are yellow. When this bird
　brings together the feathers with white markings above the tail, they form what looks like a white
　horizontal line. It has a very beautiful appearance.
　There are also those that are similarly dark-colored overall with a slightly grayish tinge.
　The size is slightly smaller than a yaku (about one shaku).
