その国は九州の北にある。肥前国唐津から壱岐島へ海上十三里。壱岐島から対馬島へ海上四十八里。対馬島豊浦から朝鮮の東港である釜山浦へ四十八里と言うけれども、四十里に足りないのである。
その国は南北に斜めに長く東西に狭い。大体南北は日本の道程で三百里、東西は八、九十里の国である。
その国は北緯三十五度から四十三度にかかる。○釜山浦は三十六度、王都（ソウル）は三十八度である。
古代には新羅（シラキ）、高句麗（コクリ）、百済（クタラ）と言い、または三韓と言い、あるいは鶏林、楽浪などと言ったのも、今の朝鮮のことである。

This country lies north of Kyushu. From Karatsu in Hizen Province to Iki Island is thirteen ri by sea. From Iki Island to Tsushima Island is forty-eight ri by sea. From Toyoura on Tsushima Island to Busan Port, the eastern harbor of Korea, it is said to be forty-eight ri, but it is actually less than forty ri.
This country extends diagonally from north to south and is narrow from east to west. Generally speaking, it measures about three hundred ri north to south by Japanese road distance, and eighty to ninety ri east to west.
This country extends from 35 degrees to 43 degrees latitude. ○Busan Port is at 36 degrees, and the royal capital is at 38 degrees.
In ancient times, it was called Silla (Shiraki), Goguryeo (Kokuri), and Baekje (Kutara), or collectively called the Three Han, or sometimes Gyerim or Lelang - all of these refer to present-day Korea.
