現代語訳

密道は猫の意見によって、ようやく今気がついた。
「なるほど、化け物の子に生まれながら、女郎ばかり買って遊んでいてもつまらない」と思い、道楽仕事を後にして弟子の家に譲り、当てもなく出て行く。

「どうぞ少し化けてみたいものだ。そして親父も元気でいられるか、これも尋ねたいものだが、少しは化け習いましたと言わねば、どうも面目もない」

Mitsudo, influenced by the cat's advice, finally came to his senses.
"Indeed, though born as the child of a monster, spending time only buying courtesans for pleasure is meaningless," he thought. He left his life of debauchery behind, transferred his business to his disciple's house, and departed without any particular destination.

"I would very much like to try some shapeshifting. And I'd also like to find out if my father is still in good health, but unless I can say I've learned at least some transformation arts, I would have no face to show him."
