当藩の名前の件については、宗家から分知を受けて以後、敦賀と名乗ってまいりましたので、すでに昨年（己年）に敦賀藩知事に任命され、近く藩印をお渡しいただくことになっておりますが、今更お願い申し上げることは深くお恐れ入ることではございますが、もともと敦賀と称している港は小浜藩の支配地であり

Regarding the matter of our domain's name, since receiving the divided fief from the main family, we have been calling ourselves Tsuruga. Consequently, last year (the year of the Boar) I was already appointed as the Governor of Tsuruga Domain, and I am soon to receive the domain seal.
