トモ此五大州ノ中ニ見ヘス怪ムヘキナリ故ニ是
等ノ類ヲ省畧ス爰ニ於テ暫ク表題ヲ攺テ南蠻
寺興廢記ト號スル者ナリ

州を有して日本等の類に非ず大国なりと記すといえども、この五大州の中に見えず、怪しむべきなり。故にこれ等の類を省略す。ここにおいて暫く表題を改めて「南蛮寺興廃記」と号する者なり。
英語訳
Although [the original text] records that [this country] has provinces and is a great nation, unlike Japan and similar countries, it does not appear among these five great continents, which is suspicious. Therefore, we omit such accounts. Here, we temporarily change the title and call it "Record of the Rise and Fall of Southern Barbarian Temples."
