伊勢国桑名では高波にて大騒ぎ
四日市では三四十軒の家が潰れ、津・松阪・山田が大荒れ、同時に鳥羽も荒れた
また五日夕方六つ時より大津波、死人はおよそ一万余人ともわからないと申すこと
尾張・三河・美濃辺り、京都・大坂も同様
播磨国では大地震・大津波で御城下が半壊、死人はおよそ百人余り、負傷者多数
紀伊国では四日に大地震、五日夕方六つ半より大津波の次第を写したもの

この度大坂の万民、近国に大変事がありましたが無事であった事の嬉しさのあまりで
天下泰平、五穀豊穣、家業長久を喜び、日夜異様な風体にて
諸社へ参詣することが引きも切らず
ここに不思議な珍事があり、摂津国西成郡御影近辺で山が崩れ
岩の間より霊水が湧き出し
去年の日照りに懲りた百姓が
田畑をこの水にて大いに潤し
皆々貴重な思いを
なし、この後豊年の
吉兆として万歳を
歌ったのである

In Yokkaichi, 30-40 houses collapsed; Tsu, Matsusaka, and Yamada severely damaged, Toba simultaneously affected
Again on the 5th, from 6 o'clock in the evening, great tsunami; death toll approximately over 10,000, exact number unknown
Owari, Mikawa, Mino regions, Kyoto and Osaka similarly affected
In Harima Province, great earthquake and tsunami, half the castle town collapsed, approximately over 100 dead, many injured
In Kii Province, great earthquake on the 4th, great tsunami from 6:30 in the evening on the 5th - record of the sequence of events

This time, though there was great disaster in neighboring provinces, the people of Osaka were safe, and in their joy at this fortune
Celebrating peace throughout the realm, abundant harvests, and prosperity of family trades, day and night in unusual attire
Visiting various shrines without end
Here occurred a wondrous event: in the vicinity of Mikage in Nishinarigori, Settsu Province, a mountain collapsed
Sacred water gushed forth from between the rocks
Farmers, having learned from last year's drought
Greatly moistened their rice fields and farmland with this water
All held it in precious regard
And sang "banzai" (ten thousand years)
As an auspicious sign of future abundant harvests

○Tsunami surged up at Tempozan; fishermen and residents in this area all fled up Tempozan as everything was flooded. Great damage to houses, small buildings collapsed and washed away. Water rushed into all the reclaimed lands in this area
