「画家は／石崎融思（イシザキユウシ）に間違いはない。船尾の船名のように記された文字は「USI」は「ユウシ」「GESCHILDERT」は蘭語でゲシルデルト「描いた」の意味で、「融思画」と判読できる。なを、石崎 融思（明和5年～弘化3年[1768-1846]）は長崎の絵師。唐絵目利として漢画・洋風画を折衷させた写実的洋風画を確立させた。

「画家は石崎融思（イシザキユウシ）に間違いない。船尾の船名のように記された文字は「USI」は「ユウシ」、「GESCHILDERT」はオランダ語でゲシルデルト「描いた」の意味で、「融思画」と判読できる。なお、石崎融思（明和5年～弘化3年[1768-1846]）は長崎の絵師。唐絵目利として漢画・洋風画を折衷させた写実的洋風画を確立させた。

Quoted from "Courtesans of Nagasaki Dejima" by Shiraishi Hiroko:
"The artist is undoubtedly Ishizaki Yūshi. The characters written like a ship's name on the stern - 'USI' represents 'Yūshi' and 'GESCHILDERT' is Dutch meaning 'painted' or 'depicted,' which can be read as 'painted by Yūshi.' Ishizaki Yūshi (Meiwa 5 - Kōka 3 [1768-1846]) was a painter from Nagasaki. As a Tang painting appraiser, he established a realistic Western-style painting that combined Chinese and Western painting styles."
