普段でさえ無尽のまじないだの何だのと言って、宝珠を削ったり鼻を削ったりひどい目に遭わせるのに、今度の地震は一思いに叩き落とされ、六人一緒にぶつかり合って、それぞれに怪我をいたしました。私達の仲間は三回ずつ撫でられても六人だから十八回撫でなければ腹は立たないけれど、今度は一回で腹が立ちます。
観音と勢至と並んで座っていても、一人も怪我はいたしませんのに、私ばかりひっくり返って、凡夫の目にはさぞ意気地がないように思いましょうね。

偉そうにしている所を、不意打ちに揺り倒すとは、地震もあまりにひどい奴だ。こちらも面と向かって来れば一歩も後へは引かないつもりだが、不意打ちゆえに九輪が負けたのだ。
