被下又は御誉被置候 」向も御座候由其身
如法之「廉」故を以御称之義は相除市中

勘弁いたすべき旨を申し聞かせ、取り調べ中であるので、
調べが出来上がったならば、なお打ち合わせ申し上げる候。これにより、この段
報告して御意をお聞かせください。以上

今般の地震について、寺院社家等から市中の者共へ
施行を差し遣わした奇特な廉（理由）を以って御称賛があり、
銀子を下賜され又は御誉めをお置きになる
向きもございます由。その身が
正当な廉故を以って御称賛の義については相除き、市中

[The matter] should be given careful consideration, as stated, and is currently under investigation.
When the investigation is completed, [we] will further consult [with you]. Therefore, at this point
please report and let us know your opinion. That is all.

On the last day of the 11th month of the Rabbit year, [this was] submitted through Takemura Jisaemon
On the 1st day of the 12th month of the same year, [this was] conveyed to Ando Nagato-no-kami. On the 3rd day of the same, acknowledgment was received with attached documents
Memorandum for consultation with the Temple and Shrine Magistrates
Regarding this recent earthquake, temples, shrine households, and others
sent relief aid to people in the city.
For this commendable reason, there has been praise,
and there are also cases where
silver coins were bestowed or commendations were given.
For those whose [actions were based on]
legitimate reasons, the matter of praise should be set aside, [but for] the city...
