養蚕実験録後編附言
上古、蚕飼いの道は、和漢ともに后妃・夫人が自ら勤めて衣服に供したものであったから、神の虫とも言うべきものである。それは賤しい勤めではない。当世はいよいよ流行して異国へも渡り、皇国の上品として益となることは広大である。
そもそも農民が大きな利を得ることで、蚕飼いに増したることはない。諸家の夫人方、諸藩の侍女といえども、これを勤めて卑しまなければ、民を勧むるの端として、四民ともに田舎住まいの気散じはさずがに、長閑な春の日より五月雨頃の長き日を徒らに暮らすよりも、勤めの寛やかな
