早（はや）く最期（さいご）の覚悟（かくご）をせよと罵（のゝし）れば延寿丸（ゑんじゆぐわん）は口を開（ひら）ひて大（たい）
笑（しやう）し汝等（なんぢら）は貪婪（どんらん）不儀（ふぎ）の悪賊（あくぞく）人情（にんじやう）は知（し）るまじと思（おも）ひしに
我（われ）を以（もつ）て親（おや）の敵（かたき）とし命（いのち）を捨（すて）て我（われ）に向（むか）ひ大言（たいげん）を吐（は）くことの
しほらしさよ不便（ふびん）ながら汝等（なんぢら）にも我（わが）引導（いんどう）を渡（わた）しくれん

呼（よび）つれ四面（しめん）より打（うつ）てかゝる延寿丸（ゑんじゆぐはん）は事（こと）ともせず鎗（やり）を捨（すて）て剣（けん）を抜（ぬき）
左（ひだり）の手（て）には鉄鞭（てつべん）を揮（ふる）ひ火雷神（くはらいじん）の荒（あれ）たるごとく十四人を相手（あいて）に
火水になりて戦（たゝか）ひけるが正（まさ）しく前（まへ）に打（うち）ふせたるとおもへば忽然（こつぜん）
として後（しりへ）に在（あ）り右に切て落（おと）したると見れば左にありて自若（じじやく）
たり一時ばかりの戦（たゝか）ひにさすがの延寿丸（ゑんじゆぐわん）も気力（きりよく）労（つか）れ一まづ
引とり重（かさ）ねて此（この）魔術（まじゆつ）を折（くぢ）【拆は誤記】くべしと透（すき）を料（はか）りて馬（うま）を返（かへ）し陣（ぢん）
門（もん）にかけ入れば軍卒（ぐんそつ）も跡（あと）につゞひて乱入（みだれい）る黴軍（ばいぐん）は勝（かつ）に乗（の）り鬨（とき）を
作（つく）りて追来（おひきた）り付入【注】にせんとひしめくを延寿丸（ゑんじゆぐわん）下知（げぢ）して鉄炮（てつぽう）
弩（いしゆみ）を雨（あめ）のごとくに打出（うちいだ）せば黴軍（ばいぐん）面（おもて）を向（むく）べきやうなく今は是
までなりと兵（へい）をまどめ少し退（しりぞ）いて陣（ぢん）をとれば延寿丸も
四門（しもん）をかたく閉（とぢ）させ部（ぶ）を分（わけ）て持口（もちぐち）を守（まも）り経宵（よもすがら）敢（あへ）て眠（ねむ）らず

「早く最期の覚悟をせよ」と罵ると、延寿丸は口を開いて大笑いし「汝等は強欲で不義な悪賊で、人情など知るまいと思っていたのに、我を親の敵とし、命を捨てて我に向かい大言を吐くとは、なんと殊勝なことか。不憫ながら汝等にも我が引導を渡してやろう」と槍をひねって突きかかった。両賊将も呼応して、結毒難治は偃月刀を振るい、蝋燭下疳は大刀を回して切り結び、両軍入り乱れて戦ったが、延寿丸の勇猛な槍先に突き立てられ、梅毒軍はたちまち敗走の形を現した。
そこで結毒難治、蝋燭下疳は少し馬を退けて左右に分かれ、かの習い受けた呪文を唱えると、不思議なことに両人の姿が見る見る分かれて七人となり、左右十四人の賊将が同じ装いで手に大刀を振り「延寿丸を討って親の仇を復せよ」と口々に
【左丁】
叫びながら四方より打ってかかった。延寿丸は動じることなく槍を捨てて剣を抜き、左手には鉄鞭を振るって火雷神が荒れ狂うごとく、十四人を相手に必死になって戦ったが、まさしく前に打ち伏せたと思えばたちまちして後ろにおり、右に切って落としたと見れば左にいて平然としている。一時ばかりの戦いに、さすがの延寿丸も気力が疲れ「一旦退いて、改めてこの魔術を打ち破ろう」と隙を見計らって馬を返し、陣門にかけ入ると軍卒も後に続いて乱入する。梅毒軍は勝ちに乗じて鬨の声を上げて追ってきて、そのまま攻め込もうと騒ぎ立てるのを、延寿丸は指示して鉄砲・弩を雨のように打ち出させると、梅毒軍は面と向かうことができず「今はこれまで」と兵をまとめ少し退いて陣を取った。延寿丸も四つの門を固く閉じさせ、部隊を分けて持ち場を守り、一晩中決して眠らなかった。

When they cursed him saying "Quickly prepare for your final moment," Enjumaru opened his mouth and laughed heartily, saying "I thought you were greedy and unrighteous bandits who knew nothing of human sentiment, yet you consider me your parents' enemy, abandon your lives to face me, and speak such bold words - how admirable! Though it pains me, I shall guide you both to your deaths as well." He twisted his spear and thrust forward. The two bandit generals also responded in kind: Ketsudoku Nanchi wielded his crescent-moon blade and Rōsoku Gekan swung his great sword as they clashed. Both armies became entangled in fierce battle, but struck by Enjumaru's valiant spear point, the syphilis army immediately showed signs of defeat.
At this point, Ketsudoku Nanchi and Rōsoku Gekan withdrew their horses slightly and separated to left and right. When they chanted the incantations they had learned, miraculously the forms of both men divided before one's eyes and became seven each. Fourteen bandit generals on left and right, all identically equipped and wielding great swords, called out in unison "Strike down Enjumaru and avenge our parents!"

Shouting thus, they attacked from all four directions. Enjumaru remained undaunted, discarded his spear and drew his sword. Wielding an iron whip in his left hand like the raging fire-thunder god, he fought desperately against all fourteen opponents. But just when he thought he had struck one down in front, that enemy would suddenly appear behind him; when he saw that he had cut one down on the right, there it would be on the left, completely unperturbed. After about an hour of fighting, even the mighty Enjumaru's strength was exhausted. Thinking "I must withdraw for now and find a way to break this magic," he watched for an opening, turned his horse around, and galloped into the camp gates, with his soldiers following behind in disorder. The syphilis army, riding high on victory, raised battle cries and pursued them, clamoring to press their attack. Enjumaru gave orders to fire guns and crossbows like rain, and the syphilis army could not face this barrage. Saying "This is enough for now," they gathered their troops, withdrew slightly, and established their own positions. Enjumaru also had the four gates tightly closed, divided his forces to guard their assigned positions, and did not sleep at all throughout the night.
