Articles mutually established between the Three Groups (Sante) and the West-Central Group
【Red ink notation: Three Groups】Articles established on the 23rd day of the 2nd month of Genroku 3, year of the Metal Horse (1690), upon the assembly of the Three Groups
Article 1: Hereafter, one head official (nengyo-gashira) from the document custody rotation shall be responsible for the daily records (nichiji). Should there be any loss, the head official of the current custody rotation shall bear responsibility for the transgression.
Article 2: Every year on the 17th day of the 1st month, the daily records shall be transferred to the next head official in the custody rotation. At that time, the assumed name of the custodian must be recorded.
Article 3: Every year when the Three Groups convene, before the formal announcement, deliberation shall first be conducted and the daily records shall first be transcribed. Anyone who forgets and fails to record the daily records shall be considered to have committed a transgression.
Note on attached paper:
Regarding the daily records of the Three Groups, since Genroku 3 (1690), the head officials of the East and West groups have been responsible for custody and recording. However, in Hōreki 3 (1753), after deliberation by the assembly members and consultation within the seats of the Three Groups, it was decided that Bingo-no-kami Yasukiyo would handle the Eastern group, and Sakon-shōgen concurrent Ō-uneme Naoya would handle the West-Central group.
