[Right page] He was still in good health and had performed his duties well this time too. Although it was thought that he would continue to be in good health in the future, since he was getting on in years and had been in service for a long time, his request to be exempted from Edo service was privately granted. If there should be any need for his services, he could be summoned again. He was given gracious words to frequently visit the elder councilors and inquire after the lords' well-being. Furthermore, Ibuka Mozaemon took care of various matters, and he was granted leave successfully, receiving two pieces of silk fabric and one haori jacket. [Left page] In February of the same year, regarding his son Chōgorō, he petitioned that since his adoptive father Iemon's biological son Tōtarō had been born and reached adulthood, when this person was appointed as heir, he should be returned to his original family name and allowed to serve with the stipend granted during his time as a page. When this petition was submitted, it was heard and granted. However, since it was not a case of the main family line dying out, nor was he being adopted into another family, and since he had been raised by Iemon from childhood, he was granted a portion of the current 200-koku landholding, and would serve as Iemon's dependent while keeping the same name and family name.
