現代語訳
【割書：二町ほど西北の方にあり、今は畑となる】なお残っているものは散らばって田畑の中にある。当時の仏事の巨額な費用を想像するに足りる。【割書：三善清行の意見封事に「上下競って産を傾けて寺を造り、田を捨てて丁を施す。極まって天平国分二寺に各々その国の正税を用いて、天下の費用の十分の五」と言われたことである】持国坂は国分寺から真間へ行く途中の坂をいう。昔この地に国分寺の持国天の堂舎があった所であるという。【割書：△貞世、詳らかでない。おそらく下総の権少掾であろう。平氏は頼胤であるべし】

This is sufficient to imagine the enormous expenses of Buddhist ceremonies at that time. [Annotation: In Miyoshi Kiyoyuki's memorial petition, it was said that "high and low compete to exhaust their wealth building temples, abandoning fields to donate labor. Ultimately, the two provincial temples of Tenpyō each used their province's regular taxes, accounting for five-tenths of the nation's expenses"] Jikoku-zaka refers to the slope on the way from Kokubunji Temple to Mama.
