After advancing (sansin) and performing a single bow (ippai) at the earthen platform (doi), each person lined up above and below the steps. Those below the steps faced south on both the left and right sides. The ujigami hafuri's deputy official, Keisen, and the shamu-dai (acting shrine administrator), Noriaki, stood together and performed a single bow at the doi. At that time, I (the recorder) arranged my trailing robes (sōkyoku), but the shamu-dai, being in court dress (ikan), did not perform that gesture.
Next, the negi group presented the sacred offerings (shinku) and all the empty trays were removed—this being the hafuri group's duty. Then the hafuri group presented the sacred offerings; each person rose from their seat and turned to face the offerings as they were transferred (tensō). All the empty trays were removed by the negi group. After this was completed, they returned to sit in a southward-facing row as before. Next, the negi group presented the sacred sake (miki), and the empty tray was placed by the Shinmiya negi on the railing (kōran).

At that time, beginning with the ujigami hafuri, they stood together with the shamu-dai as at the beginning, performed a single bow at the doi, then returned to their seats, faced north, arranged their robes, and performed the seated bow (zayū) and related gestures in the customary manner.
When the shrine officials from the Kataoka Shrine and below returned to their seats, the Azukari Dayū, Norufusa, came and handed over the sacred key (omikagi). Each received it, performed the seated bow, rose from their seats, descended from their starting positions, put on their shoes, and hung their robes. The ujigami negi deputy, Shiaki, along with the tensō gotoninchō (five-man head of the transfer-offering group), Motosue and others, accompanied them in circuit worship of the various shrines. They exited through the Shinmiya Gate, proceeded through the watadono (covered bridge), the Negi Bridge, the Second Torii, and the First Torii, and made their way to the Ujigami Shrine. They took their seats in the worship hall (haiden). The hafuri was positioned to the east; the shoe-bow and seated bow were performed in the customary manner. At that time, the tensō group first presented the New Year's tooth-hardening food (o-hagatame) and then took their seats in the worship hall.
Next, the hafuri advanced, took the sacred key, held it alongside his ceremonial baton (shaku), lowered his trailing robes, performed the shoe-bow, and made a single bow at the doi. He then ascended to the ōyuka (main dais) and performed a single bow. At that point, he inserted the sacred key and released the sacred lock. A signal (kishoku) was sent to the haiden to open the sacred doors, and each person shifted their seated position and prostrated themselves (heifuku). A single bow was performed on the ōyuka; then they descended to the doi, arranged their robes, performed a single bow, and returned to their seats.
At this point, the negi rose from his seat, advanced, and entered the inner sanctuary (naijin) to present the sacred offerings. He then exited the inner sanctuary and presented the offerings in the outer sanctuary (gejin). Next, the sacred offerings for the Komori Shrine were placed in a small chest (kobito) and presented in the outer sanctuary. Everything at and below the negi's offering table was attended to by the tensō group. The negi and tensō returned to their seats; the bow upon returning (haiyu), the arranging of robes, and related actions were performed in the customary manner.
Next, the two officials (ryōkan) performed a double bow (saibai), recited the norito (ritual prayer) in two sections, and struck their hands (kashiwade); during this, the tensō responded while remaining seated. Then the hafuri advanced and removed the Komori Shrine offerings. Next, the outer sanctuary offerings were removed and rehung on the sacred tables as before. Then they entered the inner sanctuary and removed the inner sanctuary offerings; the tensō group accompanied throughout. At this time, the paper lining inside the sacred chest in the inner sanctuary, beneath the sacred cup (mikai), was taken out and used to wipe the inner sanctuary's sacred table. Then they exited the inner sanctuary. At that point, a signal was sent to the haiden to close the sacred doors; each person shifted their seated position and prostrated themselves. After fastening the sacred lock once more, they returned to their seats; the return bow, arranging of robes, and related actions were performed in the customary manner.
Next, in the haiden, the inner sanctuary's sacred offerings were served as a communal feast (naorai). The tōne (lower shrine official) received them while still holding the sacred chest and holding their ceremonial baton upright.
