Article 1: At around the half-quarter of the Hour of the Horse (approximately noon), a message was sent to the five members of the tsume-ai (assembled officials) requesting them to gather immediately at the author's residence. They were asked to come dressed in jōe (white ceremonial robes) and to bring their personal small knives (kozugatana).
Article 1: A celebratory round of drinks (ikkon) was served as follows:
Fukusa soup (with tofu and bonito), three types of side dishes (kazunoko/herring roe, octopus, and burdock root), and several rounds of sake.
The above was decided upon by a consensus vote (shūhyō) at a gathering on the 9th day of the 12th month of Hōreki 12 (1762), attended by the shrine priests (shashi) from the Shingū and below, the Hyōjō-kanetori, and members of both senior and junior ranks.
It was agreed among all five participants toward evening that nothing beyond the three types of side dishes would be served. However, one item from the side dishes that had arrived as gifts to the author (sawagushi/young Spanish mackerel and daikon radish) was served as an additional dish.
Article 1: At around the half-quarter of the Hour of the Sheep (approximately 2–3 p.m.), a notice was received that all officials from the mokudai (deputy governor/administrator) down to the jinin (shrine servants) were to attend. Accordingly, everyone proceeded to the chōya (administrative building). One servant (shimobe) was brought along wearing hakama, and the items to be brought are as noted previously.
