Same year (Kansei 4), 4th month, 10th day: Rice-planting Festival (Uematsuri) — same rank (Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade) — Funkyō Same year, 4th month, 14th day: Ritual Purification (Misogi) — same rank — Funkyō Same year, 4th month, 16th day: Presentation of Hollyhock (Aoi Kenjō) — as it was the turn of the Kifune Shrine Priest — Funkyō As the representative of the entire shrine, Kazuhira (Tomohirakiyo), Masa, and senior officials proceeded along the route to present themselves before the Magistrate, Lord Yanagiwara-Ben, where they offered one tall ceremonial stand (takatsuki), eight chains of hollyhock (aoi), one sprig of katsura, and an inkstone lid tray (suzuributa-i) as gifts. They then proceeded similarly to the Imperial Messenger (Tensō), Lord Nakayama the Great Counselor (Dainagon). At the Imperial Palace (Kinri-Gosho), two sets of eight chains of hollyhock were presented on two tall ceremonial stands; these too were placed on inkstone lid trays. The Lady of the Long Bridge (Nagahashi-dono) declined due to a prior engagement. The same presentation was made at the Retired Emperor's Palace (Sentō-Gosho), and similarly to the two lords — the new Middle Counselor, Lord Kadenokōji. The Women's Imperial Quarters (Nyōin-Gosho) received the same treatment as the Imperial Palace. [Attached note:] Deputy of the Kifune Shrine Priest — Kuraki, Governor of Suō Same year, 4th month, 17th day: Grand Festival (Omatsuri) — same rank — Funkyō The participation stipend (sankō-ryō) for the festival was disbursed from the annual treasury rotation over three years, totaling 3 koku 5 to. From the three branches (sante), those serving as deputies received 6 to per person. Formal court robes and accessories (shōzoku-meshigu) in full were provided by the three branches. [Deputy role] Same year, 5th month, 5th day: Seasonal Festival (Sekku) — same rank, Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade — Fueki Same year, 5th month, 1st and 5th days: Received 1 koku in script (fuda) from the shrine officials as horse-tethering fees (uma-tsunagi-ryō) for the deputies. Received 5 to in script from the three branches. This was noted as being for the construction of the horse stable (umaya-date-ryō). The eboshi cap fee (karasu-ko-ryō) was disbursed from within the 3 koku 5 to participation stipend for the Aoi Festival provided by the three branches, and therefore falls outside the separately recorded receipt of rice.
