英語訳
(Once the arrangements are settled, the tone [senior shrine functionary] announces the o-hashi [chopsticks].)
Next, sake (clear rice wine) is served via the left and right tokkuri (sake vessels/chōshi). Three cuts each (five rounds/献 in formal ceremony). At this time, both daikan (administrative deputies) come out to offer greetings.
Next, the ko-gusoku (small utensil set/light equipment) is passed around as usual for morning and evening.
Next, either hiwada-chimaki (rice cakes wrapped in cypress bark) or komo-chimaki (rice cakes wrapped in rush matting), one variety, is passed around as a ko-azukari (small portion/preliminary serving).
Next, the tone announces the passing of their allotted items, and upon completion, everyone withdraws.
Item: The daikan presents sake to the tone (served in a sage [hanging vessel], with approximately three earthenware cups [kawarake]. As accompaniment (sakana), dried cod [hoshi-tara] and wakame are given if any remain).
Item: The shinjin (shrine servants) come to offer congratulations (shūgi) after the completion of the hoko-shimai (putting away of the ritual halberds/spears) at the ton'gū (temporary shrine/portable shrine rest station).
Sake is placed in a sage vessel (approximately five earthenware cups). Dried cod and wakame are given as accompaniment.
Item: One daikan proceeds to the shrine precinct (shadō) to retrieve the fukichirashi (ritual scattering/decorative scatter paper or streamers) from the hoko-shimai ceremony and return with it. This matter requires no report (mudai) to the shoku-chū (senior shrine officials) the following day.
Regarding the said fukichirashi: once the duties of the tenth number (jūban no rōeki) have been completed, one daikan should promptly proceed to the front of the ton'gū and retrieve the five fukichirashi and return.
Item: Three curtains (maku) and two temizu-oke (hand-washing buckets) are sent to the shrine precinct (shadō), carried by two subordinates (shimobe).
Item: At the chōya (administrative building), the shitomi (latticed shutters) are lowered as at the beginning, and after ensuring fire safety precautions (hi no yōjin), everyone withdraws.
The Seventh Day
Item: Regarding the morning of the eighth day: four laborers (ninpu) for the shōzoku-age (carrying up/transporting of ceremonial robes and garments) are to be instructed to arrive promptly after their morning meal.
