花は一本に一輪あり、花は香ること蕙蘭（けいらん）と変わらず、色は少し黄色である。また葉も蕙蘭と同じである。また花の鞘がはっきりとあり、鞘の色は白、薄黄、青である。
茎は薄青紫色である。『左伝』に「国香、鄭の文公の妾である燕姞（えんきつ）という者に蘭を与える」と夢に見る。蘭に国香があり、人の目をしてこれに魅了させる、とある。三月に花が咲く。

[春竜胆（はるりんどう）《割書：またはるぎきょうとも言う》]花の形は八重桔梗に似て、花の裏は白、浅葱色、薄紅の斑点がある。葉は竜胆より短く丸く、先が尖っている。花の様子は竜胆と変わらず、三月に花が咲く。

花は六弁で撫子に似ている。花の色は根元が濃い紅色で下より黒味があり、また内側の裏は薄紅色で先より白味がある。葉は曼荼羅花に似て大きく、花の様子は苧環草（おだまきそう）に似ている。

狗舌草（くぜつそう）]
花の形は菊のようで、色は本来黄色、様子はまわりに咲く。葉は苦葵菜（にがあおいな）の葉に似て小さい。下に付く一重のものがあり、千弁もある。一重を沢もっこうとも言う。
