競馬也《割書：式日｜延引》室町殿御成御見物御桟敷被構

一親長卿記云文明十年五月一日雨下霖雨
今日賀茂足調延引依雨云々二日雨下時々晴
昨日依雨無賀茂足調今日有之云々
已上予所書出也

ふりてうちくらへハなし同二日行はる
雨のふりたりし年こそ雨のふる時はかりわ
すかに時刻のうつれハとてかさる事ハ候し

一 長興宿祢記に云う、文明九年五月二十二日、今日賀茂
競馬である《割書：式日延引》室町殿が御成りになり御見物、御桟敷が構えられ
観音堂云々事が終わって西賀茂《割書：上転（私見では正伝寺である）寺》にて御酒宴、畠
山金吾、雑掌（私見では雑餉か）が申し沙汰である
《割書：一日雨により足調延引の例の事》【朱書】
一 親長卿記に云う、文明十年五月一日雨が降り霖雨
今日賀茂の足調は雨により延引云々、二日雨が降り時々晴れ
昨日雨により賀茂の足調はなく、今日これを行う云々
以上私が書き出したものである

一 文永九年みずのえさる五月朔日は雨が
降って打競べ（競馬）はなし、同二日に行われる
雨の降った年こそ雨の降る時ばかりは少し
時刻が移ればとてもそのような事があった。
また菖蒲の拝も少しばかりである《割書：略》

一 同十年みずのととり五月朔日の打ち
競べ馬に雨が降って馬番は延びる事
八丁の屋で行われる《割書：下略》
右は森飛騨守連久より書き出されたもの
右の先例を差し出した後、相談により三ヶ度の先
例を省略して一通りにまとめられ、今夕惣代両人が御
所司に持参する。その案を左に写す

One: The Record of Chōkō Sukune states, on May 22nd, Bunmei 9th year, today is the Kamo
horse race《Marginal note: ceremonial day postponed》. The Muromachi lord made a formal visit to observe, viewing stands were erected,
at Kannon Hall, and so forth. After the events concluded, there was a banquet at Nishi-Kamo《Marginal note: Jōten (in my opinion, this is Shōden-ji) Temple》. Hatakeyama
Kingo and the steward (in my opinion, perhaps "zasshō") handled the arrangements.
《Marginal note: Matter of precedent for postponing ashishirabe on the 1st day due to rain》【In red ink】
One: The Record of Chinnaga-kyō states, on May 1st, Bunmei 10th year, rain fell as continuous rain.
Today the Kamo ashishirabe was postponed due to rain, and so forth. On the 2nd day rain fell with occasional clearing.
Yesterday there was no Kamo ashikirabe due to rain, today it was performed, and so forth.

One: Bunei 9th year, mizunoe-saru, on May 1st it rained
and there was no uchikurabe (horse racing), performed on the same 2nd day.
In years when it rained, especially when rain was falling, only a little
time would pass before such things would happen.
Also, the viewing of iris was only brief《Marginal note: abbreviated》

One: Same 10th year, mizunoto-tori, on May 1st the uchi-
kurabe horse racing had rain fall and the horse番 was postponed,
performed at the Hachijō pavilion《Marginal note: rest abbreviated》

were condensed into one document, and this evening the two representatives will
bring it to the Shoshidai. That draft is copied below.
