了扨乗尻中於忌子屋而貴布称之例飯ト号シテ祝
焉畢是後代為例委細記者也
負競馬神事過庁ニ着座古今之社法ト云々
延宝四年五日競馬会大雨降也神事過乗尻
衆階下之衆庁屋ニ着座旹右之乗尻西市正
福久不為着座仍昌平吟味被致古今不作法之
由被申了階下乗尻衆尤与同意故階下所司
ヲ呼出テ曰福久退出如何不例也急度出座可有
之旨云渡也即神人両人可被遣之旨也所司
心得申神人呼出申付無例由申候所司私和云是
先代未聞無之事也是例始也可参之旨急度
申渡ス神人承届参也又初方ヨリ浄衣着
ニ被添露福大夫清常千夜刃大夫保《割書：尉歟｜》被参

了。扨て乗尻中は忌子屋において貴布禰の例飯と号して祝った。畢に是れ後代の例とするため委細に記すものなり。
負け競馬の神事過ぎて庁に着座するは古今の社法と云々。
延宝四年五月競馬会、大雨が降った。神事過ぎて乗尻衆階下の衆が庁屋に着座した時、右の乗尻西市正福久が着座しなかった。仍って昌平が吟味致され、古今作法に外れる由を申された了。階下乗尻衆もっともと同意故、階下所司を呼び出して曰く「福久退出はいかにも例に外れるなり。急度出座あるべき」旨を云い渡すなり。即ち神人両人を遣わすべき旨なり。所司心得申し、神人を呼び出し申し付け「例にない」由を申し候。所司私和して云う「これは先代未聞にして無きことなり。これ例の始めなり。参るべき」旨を急度申し渡す。神人承り届け参るなり。
又初方より浄衣着用に添えられ、露福大夫清常、千夜刃大夫保尉が参られ畢。返答に云う「少し俄かに気色悪く候故退出」云々。先代未聞の放埒人なり。重ねて又事あるべきなり。仍って記し置く了。

This was completed. Then, the jockeys celebrated at the imiko-ya (purification hut) with what they called the ceremonial meal of Kifune. This is recorded in detail to serve as an example for future generations.
After the losing horse racing ritual ended, taking seats in the office building was according to ancient and modern shrine law, etc.
In the 5th month of Enpō 4 (1676), during the horse racing gathering, heavy rain fell. After the ritual ended, when the jockeys and the lower-ranking people took their seats in the office building, Nishiichishō Fukuhisa, one of the aforementioned jockeys, did not take his seat. Therefore, Shōhei conducted an investigation and declared that this was against ancient and modern propriety. The lower-ranking jockeys also agreed, saying "Indeed so," so they called out the lower-ranking shoshi (shrine official) and said: "Fukuhisa's departure is most irregular. He should definitely appear and take his seat." This was announced. They said that two jinjin (shrine attendants) should be dispatched immediately. The shoshi understood and called out the jinrin, instructing them about the irregularity. The shoshi privately mediated, saying: "This is unprecedented, unheard of in previous generations. This is the beginning of a precedent. He must attend." This was strictly announced. The jinrin acknowledged and attended.
Also, in addition to wearing pure robes from the beginning, Robuku-dayū Kiyotsune and Sen'ya-jin-dayū Yasunori participated. In response, they said: "We feel suddenly unwell, so we are withdrawing," etc. This was unprecedented misconduct, unheard of in previous generations. There will likely be further incidents. Therefore, this is recorded.
