現代語訳
右の競馬記録は、元和元年から明暦元年までは忱直《割書：近直の男である。明暦元年十一月廿一日卒去、年五十四》が記録し、明暦二年から元禄三年までは忱直の長男従五位下隆直《割書：元禄六年八十二日卒去、年五十一》が、従四位下季芳が所持していた本を書き続けたものである。そしてその忱直自筆の本を、今益顕の三男虎介大夫巨顕が所持しているので、私が懇願して写させていただいた。ただし明暦二年以後の競馬勝負違例等の記事は文理がかなり不分明であるが、とりあえず本紙の通りに写し留めておく。

英語訳
This horse racing record was written by Shinchoku《Marginal note: Son of Chikachoku. Died on the 21st day of the 11th month of Meireki 1st year, aged 54》from Genna 1st year to Meireki 1st year, and from Meireki 2nd year to Genroku 3rd year by Shinchoku's eldest son Junior Fifth Rank Lower Takachoku《Marginal note: Died on the 82nd day of Genroku 6th year, aged 51》, who continued writing based on a book possessed by Junior Fourth Rank Lower Sueyoshi. The original manuscript in Shinchoku's own hand is now possessed by Konosuke-dayū Hiroaki, the third son of Imasuaki, so I earnestly requested to make a copy. However, the records of horse racing victories, defeats, and irregular incidents from Meireki 2nd year onward are quite unclear in their literary meaning, but I have copied and preserved them as they appear in the original document.
