三番ノ左但馬守清常出仕ノ時門外ニテ落馬弟
源大夫依而浄衣着為替乗雖然出仕以前乗尻
中階下へ一言之届ケモ無之故於庁屋穿議有ル
神事延引如何重而吟味与料簡ニ而競馬相済

右 伊豆守保廉
三番の左、但馬守清常が出仕の時、門外で落馬し、弟の源大夫がそれによって浄衣を着替えて代わりに乗った。しかしながら出仕以前に乗り手が中階下へ一言の届けもなかったため、庁屋において議論があった。神事延引はいかがなものかと重ねて吟味するという判断で競馬を済ませた。
《割書：出仕の時急に名代として乗り、浄衣着用の届出がなかったため三年間の雑体の事》
後日、但馬守の弟源大夫は三年間の雑体となった。出仕以前に届けがなかったためである。

右の保衆八人について、古法では三座の外の者はいないのが例である。これにより乗り手へ座席から使いを以て保八番まで下ることはいかがなものかと思うが、しかし差し支えないとの返答である。他に乗り手がいないため判断によりこのようにした。重ねての例にはならないものである。

Right Izu-no-kami Yasukado
In the 3rd race, the left rider Tajima-no-kami Kiyotsune fell from his horse outside the gate when coming to serve. His younger brother Gendayū therefore changed into ceremonial robes and rode as substitute. However, since there was no notification to the middle lower steps before the service regarding the rider, there was debate at the administrative building. With the consideration that delaying the sacred ritual would be problematic, after further deliberation, the horse race was completed.

Later, Tajima-no-kami's younger brother Gendayū was given irregular status for three years. This was because there was no notification before the service.

Regarding these eight retainers above, according to ancient law, there was no precedent for those outside the three seats. Therefore, whether it was appropriate to send a messenger from the seating area down to the eighth retainer among the riders was questionable, but the response was that there was no problem. Since there were no other riders available, this was done by judgment. This should not become a repeated precedent.
