現代語訳
登り、翌未年二月に御奏者番を仰せ付けられ、同
三月に下向した。
一宝暦元年未年七月、清左衛門と改名したい
旨を願い出て、許可された。
一同年九月、勤番のため江戸表へ登り、翌
十二月に御徒支配を仰せ付けられ、同三月に
下向した。
ただし定例の通り御上下の代として晒一疋を下賜
され、この後勤番の毎度下賜されることとなった。
一同三酉年九月、江戸勤番のため登り、
翌戌年三月に下向した。
一同七丑年九月、勤番のため江戸表へ
登り、翌寅年三月に下向した。
ただし勤番四陣を精出して滞りなく勤めたため、
定例の下賜物の振替として御小袖を下賜
された。
一同九卯年九月、勤番のため江戸表へ登り、
翌辰年三月に御上京の御供をした。
一同十辰年四月、御前において小番頭を
仰せ付けられ、直ちに詰越勤番を勤め、同九月に

went up to Edo, and in the second month of the following year (Mi), was appointed御奏者番 (gozōshaban, master of ceremonies), returning home in the third month of the same year.
In the seventh month of Hōreki 1 (Mi year), he petitioned to change his name to Seizaemon, and this was granted.
In the ninth month of the same year, he went up to Edo for guard duty, and in the twelfth month of the following year was appointed 御徒支配 (go-ashigaru-shihai, commander of foot soldiers), returning home in the third month.
As per custom, he was granted one roll of bleached cloth as a substitute for formal court dress, and this continued to be granted for each subsequent guard duty assignment.
In the ninth month of the third year (Tori), he went up for Edo guard duty, returning home in the third month of the following year (Inu).
In the ninth month of the seventh year (Ushi), he went up to Edo for guard duty, returning home in the third month of the following year (Tora).
As he had diligently performed four tours of guard duty without incident, he was granted a formal kimono as a substitute for the usual reward.
In the ninth month of the ninth year (U), he went up to Edo for guard duty, and in the third month of the following year (Tatsu) accompanied the lord on his journey to Kyoto.
In the fourth month of the tenth year (Tatsu), he was appointed 小番頭 (koban-gashira, minor guard captain) in the lord's presence, immediately undertaking extended guard duty, and in the ninth month
