一、江戸表からの飛脚便が着いたところ、

1. For the three days of New Year, the entrance hall should be kept open as usual, and even the decorative furnishings and equipment should be prepared by the subordinate staff as instructed last winter.
4th Day
1. Regarding the commencement of official duties on the 8th, although this is customary practice, I have informed the supervisors and instructed the subordinate staff to prepare as usual.
7th Day
1. A courier from Edo arrived with news that:

The Young Lord and Her Ladyship are all in excellent spirits
and have
safely welcomed the New Year. Upon receiving this news, I respectfully visited the office to express congratulations.
8th Day
1. Today being the commencement of official duties, I arrived at 4 o'clock. The supervisors arrived at 8 o'clock, so sake was bestowed according to precedent, as follows:
