早疑心無之以来教化通り少も異論申間敷儀本願寺へ印形指出候上江戸表へ
罷出候はヽ 御国法御憐愍も相立於本山も慈悲通り之儀可被相好事に候得は
一段之儀に可被存事に候弥右之内存に候はヽ本山へ御聲懸りも可被成下候間得と

吟味之儀本願寺ゟ願下ヶに相成候様相願度旨猶亦当方ゟも本願寺へ御掛合
被成下候様相願一札印形指出候に付京都ゟ森二右衛門被召呼夫々御掛合被仰遣候右
に付寺院之内両三ヶ寺并門徒惣代両三人二右衛門同道上京厚申談候様可被申渡候尤
御呼出之者共は上京相除可申事に候

○近来御方他国者入込御〆り方にも相障り候間別紙之通夫々支配頭へ可申聞旨
一浪人者ちよんがれ豆蔵体之者へも通り一遍之外猥りに立入候而はおのつから盗賊
体之者手引にも相成候得は火之元〆り方にも不宜事に候間立入不申候様庄屋共ゟ
家毎に厳敷申付候様に被仰出候
一他国商人体之者類近頃別而致徘徊之趣相聞候是又立入不申候様被仰遣候
但在々之内右体之者為致逗留置候者有之候旨不埒之儀在方之内に而も
別而森田古市浅水今市抔宿致候者有之候由相聞以後等閑之趣相聞

公儀御奉行所の御利害を拝聴し許可され、並びに御国主様の御憐憫をよく相弁じた上は、最早疑心無く、以来教化の通り少しも異論申すまじき儀を本願寺へ印形を指し出した上で江戸表へ罷り出れば、御国法御憐憫も相立ち、本山においても慈悲通りの儀を相好まれることであろうから、一段の儀と存ずべきことである。いよいよ右の内存であれば、本山へ御声懸かりも成し下されるであろうから、よく相弁じて申し達すべきことである。

○西本願寺派本院並びに門徒共、今度公儀御奉行所の御利害の趣に屈伏し、この上は御吟味の儀を本願寺から願い下げとなるよう相願いたき旨、なお又当方からも本願寺へ御掛け合いを成し下されるよう相願い、一札印形を指し出したことにより、京都から森二右衛門を召び呼び、それぞれ御掛け合いを仰せ遣わされた。右により寺院のうち両三ヶ寺並びに門徒総代両三人を二右衛門同道にて上京させ、厚く申し談ずるよう申し渡すべきである。もっとも御呼び出しの者共は上京を相除くべきことである。

○近来御方に他国者が入り込み、御締まり方にも相障るため、別紙の通りそれぞれ支配頭へ申し聞かせるべき旨
一、浪人者やちょんがれ豆蔵体の者へも通り一遍の外、みだりに立ち入ることは、おのずから盗賊体の者の手引きにも相成るので、火の元締まり方にもよろしくない事であるから、立ち入り申さないよう庄屋共から家毎に厳しく申し付けるよう仰せ出された。
一、他国商人体の者類、近頃別して徘徊を致す趣相聞こえる。これ又立ち入り申さないよう仰せ遣わされた。
但し在々のうち右体の者を逗留させ置く者があるとの由、不埒の儀、在方のうちでも別して森田・古市・浅水・今市などに宿をする者があるとの由相聞こえ、以後等閑の趣相聞こえれば御咎めを仰せ付けられる。

○西本願寺派宗意の儀につき、よろしからざる者も立ち入ったか、今度格別御苦労を成し下された御事であるから、冥加銀を指し上げ、その余御役方へもそれぞれ配物があるとの由を申し立て、村々へ出銀の儀を申し触れ掠め取る者があるとの由相聞こえ、不届きの事である。右体の者が徘徊すれば早々申し出るよう申し渡すべきである。

Having respectfully listened to and received permission for the consequences from the government magistrate's office, and having well understood our domain lord's compassion, there should no longer be any doubt, and henceforth we shall not raise any objections whatsoever to the religious instruction. If you submit your seal to Honganji Temple and then proceed to Edo, both domain law and compassion will be established, and the main temple will also favor matters of mercy - this would be a most excellent thing. If this is indeed your intention, the main temple will also make contact with you, so this should be well understood and communicated.
February 29th
To the Administrative Head
○The Nishi Honganji sect main temple and its followers have submitted to the consequences from the government magistrate's office this time, and have submitted a written pledge with their seals requesting that the investigation matter be withdrawn by Honganji Temple, and further requesting that our side also negotiate with Honganji Temple. Consequently, Mori Jiuemon was summoned from Kyoto and various negotiations were conducted. Therefore, two or three temples and two or three lay follower representatives should accompany Jiuemon to Kyoto for thorough discussions. However, those who were summoned should be excluded from going to Kyoto.

○Recently, people from other domains have been entering our domain, which interferes with our security measures, so the following should be communicated to each administrative head as per the attached document:
1. Regarding masterless samurai and street performers like "chongare mamezo," beyond ordinary interaction, careless involvement with them could naturally lead to assisting thieves, which would be detrimental to fire prevention and security. Therefore, village headmen should strictly order each household not to associate with them.
1. It is heard that merchant-type people from other domains have been particularly wandering about recently. They should also be told not to enter.
However, if there are those in rural areas who lodge such people, this is improper conduct. It is particularly heard that in rural areas, especially in Morita, Furuichi, Asamizu, Imaichi and such places, there are those who provide lodging. If such negligent behavior is reported in the future, punishment will be ordered.

○Regarding the Nishi Honganji sect's religious doctrine, undesirable elements may have become involved. Since you have taken special trouble this time, there are reports of people claiming there will be offerings of gratitude money and various distributions to officials, and using this to solicit money from villages and embezzling it. This is misconduct. If such people are wandering about, they should be reported immediately.
