○各御番組之内勝手難儀に付先達而願之上俵数拝借被仰付候処再願之趣
難及御取上候併格別之趣を以別紙之通各引受に而拝借被仰付候其段夫々
可被申聞候
但弐俵ツゝ都合弐拾壱人右之内去廿七日拝借被仰付候面々も有之
右之通来子暮上納に而御番頭引受拝借被仰付候

○旧臘被相達候大御番組之面々願之趣今般佐野内膳江口源左衛門両人を以色々

江口源左衛門
○あなた自身に内々の用事があるため、来る寅年（文化三年）の早春に江戸へ立ち帰って出府するよう命じられた。
十二月二十八日
大御番頭
○各御番組の中で家計が困窮しているため、先日願い出た上で俵数の拝借を命じられたところ、再度の願い出の趣旨は取り上げ難い。しかし格別の事情により、別紙の通り各々が引き受けることで拝借を命じられた。その旨をそれぞれに申し伝えるべきである。
但し二俵ずつ、合計二十一人。このうち去る二十七日に拝借を命じられた人々もいる。
右の通り来る子年（文化元年）の年末上納として、御番頭が引き受けて拝借を命じられた。

大御番頭へ
○昨年末にお達しした大御番組の人々の願い出の趣旨について、今回佐野内膳と江口源左衛門の両人を通じて色々とお聞き届けいただいたので、そのように心得るべきである。その上は十分にご評議いただきたい。ただし重要な願い事について、御譜代の人々が上への御苦労を申し上げるのは道理に反することであるから、今一度よく申し聞かせた上で、なお改めてお達しすべきである。
正月十四日
但し右の書付は稲葉図書方の月番太田三郎兵衛に渡され、右の趣旨を次の便で江戸表に達すべき件であったが、今回同役の源左衛門が立ち帰りの御用を命じられて赴くため、その際に持参することになり、別段達しないことになった。すなわち内膳と源左衛門は同十七日に出立したことである。

○ You are ordered to return to Edo in early spring of the coming Year of the Tiger (Bunka 3) to report for duty, as you have private business matters to attend to.

Chief of the Great Guard
○ Regarding the loan of rice bales that was granted upon request due to financial difficulties among members of each guard unit, a second petition on this matter cannot be taken up. However, due to special circumstances, loans are granted with each person taking responsibility as outlined in the separate document. This matter should be communicated to each person respectively.
However, two bales each, totaling twenty-one people. Among these, some were already granted loans on the 27th.
As stated above, loans are granted with the guard chief taking responsibility, to be repaid by the end of the coming Year of the Rat (Bunka 1).

To the Chief of the Great Guard
○ Regarding the petition from members of the Great Guard unit that was communicated last December, various matters have now been brought to attention through Sano Naizen and Eguchi Genzaemon. You should understand this accordingly. Based on this, please deliberate thoroughly. However, since it would be unreasonable for hereditary retainers to trouble their superiors with weighty petitions, they should be well instructed once more before communicating again.

Note: The above document was handed to Ota Saburobyoe, the monthly duty officer from Inaba Tosho's office. While this matter should have been communicated to Edo by the next messenger, since colleague Genzaemon was ordered to return on official business, he carried it with him, so it was not sent separately. Naizen and Genzaemon departed on the 17th of the same month.
