磯野多宮
○各御番組の人々の願い出の件について、早春に出勤しない者がいる段をお聞き届けいただき、ご心痛をおかけしている。御譜代の人々がそのような状態では宜しくないので、早速出勤するよう申し聞かせるべきである。願い出の件は御帰国の上でご指図いただくことになる。また、差し支えがあって出勤できない人々については、各々吟味の上でお達しいただければ、指掛り（臨時手当）をお与えくださるとのこと。この段を申し聞かせるよう、内蔵助をはじめ皆へ御直書をくださり、今村伝兵衛を派遣された。格別重要なお達しであるので、よく心得て一同へ申し渡すべきである。

○別紙の通りお達しがあり、大御番頭の人々へ申し渡されたので、そのように心得て、新番組の人々へも心得違いのないよう申し渡すべきである。別紙は大御番頭への申し渡しと同様である。
正月二十七日
但し同役の今村伝兵衛並びに御徒目付岩佐次郎右衛門に立ち帰りの御用が命じられ、昨日二十六日に江戸表から到着した。二月二日に両人とも江戸表へ折り返し出立した。

月番 大御番頭
○先日お達しがあった各御番組の内で、必ずしも差し支えで出勤できない人々については、各々吟味の上でお達しいただければ指掛り（臨時手当）をお与えいただけるところ、すぐに出勤しているため指掛りを願わないこともあるだろうか。御帰国までの間、相当な日数もあることであり、昨年末以来特に不如意とも聞いているので、提出している一統の願いに関わらず、非常に差し支えのある人々には指掛り（臨時手当）を願うよう、なお申し聞かせるべきである。また、間もなく御取替米（給与米）をお渡しする時節にもなる。これに関連して相対借銀の件で難儀することもあるだろうから、今春の間は銀元（債権者）の者が銀先（支払期限）を延期してくれれば、当然しのぎ方の一助にもなるだろう。もし銀先の者が承知しかねる者もいるならば、その段をお達しするよう申し渡すべきである。

○ Regarding the petitions from members of each guard unit, it has come to attention that some are not reporting for duty in early spring, causing you concern. It is not proper for hereditary retainers to be in such a state, so they should be instructed to report for duty immediately. The matter of petitions will be decided upon your return to the domain. Also, for those who cannot report for duty due to impediments, if you examine each case and report accordingly, temporary allowances (sashikakari) will be provided. A direct letter was sent to Kuranosuke and others instructing them to communicate this matter, and Imamura Denbei was dispatched. This is a particularly important directive, so it should be well understood and communicated to everyone.

Note: Colleague Imamura Denbei and foot inspector Iwasa Jiroemon were ordered to return on official business and arrived yesterday, the 26th, from Edo. Both departed back to Edo on February 2nd.

○ Regarding the recent directive about members of each guard unit who cannot necessarily report for duty due to impediments, temporary allowances (sashikakari) would be provided if each case is examined and reported. However, some may not request temporary allowances because they are already reporting for duty. Since there are still considerable days until your return to the domain, and it has been heard that finances have been particularly tight since last winter, those who are severely impeded should still be instructed to request temporary allowances (sashikakari), regardless of the collective petition that has been submitted. Also, the time for distributing the replacement rice stipends is approaching. In connection with this, there may be difficulties with mutual lending arrangements, so if creditors would extend payment deadlines this spring, it would naturally help with getting by. If there are creditors who cannot agree to this, that matter should be reported accordingly.
