漿（うみ）を採（とら）せて他（よそ）の種（たね）とする事なり是も医に
任（まか）せて快（こゝろよ）く許（ゆる）すへし他医（よそのゐしや）より其／種（たね）を求（もとめ）る
ならば引（うゑ）たる医（ゐしや）に尋（たづね）ての上にて漿（うみ）を採（とら）す

一 痘中（ほうさうのあいだ）忌諱（いみごゝ）一切なし神祭（かみまつり）は自然痘（じねんぼうさう）にても医法（ゐしやのほふ）には
なき事なれば人々の心任（こゝろまか）せにすべきものか
一 此引痘は百日咳（つよきたぐり）【「せき」左ルビ】。頭瘡（づさう）。疥癬（ひぜん）【「しつ」左ルビ】。佝僂病（せむしはとむねのるゐ）【「ちゑのおそき」左ルビ】。疳（むしかん）。等の諸病に
行（おこなひ）て若しからだ或は平癒（へいゆ）にいたるもありと西書（をらんだのしよもつ）に出（いで）
予も数々（かず〳〵）是等（これら）其外（そのほか）の病にも経験（ておぼえ）あり是は常に
病身（びようしん）なる児（こ）自然痘（じねんぼうさう）を患（わづらひ）て後（のち）大に快（こゝろよ）くなるも同理（ひとつわけ）
にて疑（うたがふ）べきにあらず詳（くはしく）は予（わ）か作（つく）りし補憾録（ほかんろく）に見えたり
現代語訳
膿を採取させて他の種痘の材料とするのである。これも医師に任せて快く許可すべきである。他の医師がその種痘材料を求めるのであれば、種痘を行った医師に尋ねた上で膿を採取すべきである。
一 痘瘡の間、禁忌事項は一切ない。神祭りは自然痘瘡においても医学的根拠はないことなので、人々の心に任せるべきものであろうか。
一 この種痘は百日咳、頭瘡、疥癬、佝僂病、疳などの諸病に対して行うと、時には体が完治に至ることもあると西洋の書物に記載されている。私も数多くこれらやその他の病気についても経験がある。これは普段から病弱な子供が自然痘を患った後に大いに健康になるのと同じ理屈で、疑うべきことではない。詳しくは私が著した『補憾録』に記載されている。
英語訳
pus should be collected and used as material for inoculating others. This too should be left to the physician and gladly permitted. If another physician seeks that inoculation material, the pus should be collected only after consulting with the physician who performed the inoculation.
1. During smallpox, there are no taboos whatsoever. As for religious festivals, even with natural smallpox there is no medical basis for them, so perhaps these should be left to people's discretion.
1. This inoculation, when performed on various diseases such as whooping cough, scalp sores, scabies, rickets, and childhood malnutrition, sometimes leads to complete recovery of the body, as recorded in Western books. I too have numerous experiences with these and other diseases. This follows the same principle as when chronically ill children become much healthier after suffering natural smallpox, and should not be doubted.
