・同年（寛政三亥年）十月、貞昭様の御小姓を仰せ付けられ、これまで通り御役料を下し置かれた。
・同四年（寛政四子年）九月、願い出の通り御小姓を御免となり、会津勝手外様組付を仰せ付けられ、井深監物の組に入り、御城御番を勤めた。
・同五年（寛政五丑年）九月、追鳥狩の節に参加した。
但し、この後六度参加した内、四度において獲物を仕留めた。
・同六年（寛政六寅年）四月、去る秋の追鳥狩の節、隊列・足並み・進退等がよく揃っており、かねてより合隊稽古にも精を出していた儀と思し召された段につき、組一同御称美を下された。
但し、この後も毎度御称美を下された。
・同九年（寛政九巳年）四月、頭（組頭）の井深監物が御役義を召し上げられたにつき、後任の御役として西郷文蔵組に（移された）。

- In the tenth month of the same year (Kansei 3, Year of the Boar), he was appointed as a page (*okoshō*) to Lord Teishō, and his stipend for duties (*oyakuryō*) continued to be granted as before.
- In the ninth month of Kansei 4 (Year of the Rat), as per his request, he was relieved of his position as page, reassigned to the Aizu Katte Tozama-gumi (outside retainer unit), placed under the command of Ibuka Kenmotsu's unit, and performed castle guard duty (*oshiro goban*).
- In the ninth month of Kansei 5 (Year of the Ox), he participated in the *oitori-gari* (a falconry/game hunt conducted as a military exercise).
Note: After this, he participated six more times, and on four of those occasions, he made kills.
- In the fourth month of Kansei 6 (Year of the Tiger), regarding last autumn's *oitori-gari*, it was noted that the formation, marching pace, and maneuvers had been well coordinated, and that this was deemed to reflect the diligent practice of combined-unit drills undertaken beforehand. The entire unit received commendation (*shōbi*) from the lord.
Note: After this, commendation was received on each subsequent occasion as well.
- In the fourth month of Kansei 9 (Year of the Snake), as the unit commander (*kashira*) Ibuka Kenmotsu was relieved of his duties, he was (reassigned to) the unit of Saigō Bunzō as the successor unit.
