・同（寛政九巳年）、（西郷文蔵組に）移ることとなった。
・同十年（寛政十午年）【月日不詳】、去る卯年（寛政七卯年）より去年中（寛政九年）まで、槍術稽古を引き続き精を出し、七分以上の業を修めた段、奇特に思し召された旨を仰せ出された。
・同年十二月、頭（組頭）の西郷文蔵が御役替になったにつき、後任の御役として三宅半之丞組に移ることとなった。
・同十二年（寛政十二申年）三月、米代三ノ丁下町の田八郎左衛門屋敷の割地を下し置かれた。
・文化五年（1808）辰年正月、蝦夷地御固御用を仰せ付けられ、出立する節に御目見を仰せ付けられ、御流を頂戴した。
但し、彼の地において防禦のため大銃を御渡しになられ、遠丁打の試しを行った。
・同年十月、御固御用が相済み、帰陣した。
・同年十二月、この度の蝦夷地御固御用につき罷り越した処、海陸の往来をはじめ、彼の地において（以下次頁へ続く）

- In the same year (Kansei 9, Year of the Snake), he was transferred (to the unit of Saigō Bunzō).
- In Kansei 10 (Year of the Horse) [month unknown], from the Year of the Hare (Kansei 7) through the previous year (Kansei 9), he had continuously applied himself with diligence to spear (*sōjutsu*) practice, achieving a proficiency level of seven-tenths or above (*shichi-bu ijō*). This was declared to have been regarded as admirable (*kitoku*) by the lord.
- In the twelfth month of the same year (Kansei 10), as the unit commander (*kashira*) Saigō Bunzō was reassigned to a different post, he was transferred to the unit of Miyake Hannojō as the successor unit.
- In the third month of Kansei 12 (Year of the Monkey), he was granted a plot of divided land (*warich*) from the estate of Taha Rōzaemon in the lower district of Yoneshiro San-no-chō.
- In the first month of Bunka 5 (1808), Year of the Dragon, he was appointed to the duty of guarding Ezo (*Ezochi o-katame goyō*). Upon his departure, he was granted an audience with the lord (*omemie*) and received the lord's sake (*o-nagare*).
Note: At that location, for the purposes of defense, he was issued large firearms (*taijū*) and conducted long-range shooting trials (*entōuchi tameshi*).
