《割書：治る｜御代》 ひやかし鯰
賑（にきは）ふ江戸（ゑど）の花川戸（はなかはど）設（もうか）り宅（たく）の
繁昌（はんじやう）を見物（けんぶつ）せんとぬら
くらと格子（かうし）をのぞく大鯰（おほなまづ）
かむろが見付（みつけ）てさゝやけば
おいらんはとんで出（いで）無理（むり）に
とらえんとすれど抜（ぬけ）つ
くゞりつつらまらねば
もしへ早（はや）くひやうたんを
持（もつ）て来（き）なましといへば
気転（きてん）のきゝし若（わか）イ者（もの）これで
おさへれば大丈夫（だいじやうぶ）だと徳利（とつくり）を
持来（もちきた）れば何（なん）の苦（く）もなくおさへしゆへ
是はふしきと能々（よく〳〵）見れば鹿嶋（かじま）の
徳利（とつくり）だ

現代語訳
『治る御代』からかい鯰
賑わう江戸の花川戸で、儲かっている遊郭の
繁盛ぶりを見物しようと、のそのそと
格子窓を覗く大鯰。
禿（かむろ）が見つけてささやくと、
花魁は飛んで出てきて無理やり
捕らえようとするが、鯰は抜け出し
潜り抜けて捕まらない。
そこで「もしもし、早くひょうたんを
持って来なさい」と言うと、
機転の利いた若い者が「これで
押さえれば大丈夫だ」と徳利を
持って来たところ、何の苦労もなく押さえることができた。
「これは不思議だ」とよくよく見れば、鹿島の
徳利だった。

女郎：「もしもし、あなたはあまりにも
ひどいですよ。この間も出し抜けに
暴れて大騒ぎを
させました。
店も
二階も
一時に
ひねり潰すなんて
目が回りますよ。
義理が悪い。」

抜いたら、お前の

"Teasing Catfish in a Peaceful Reign"
In the bustling Hanakawado district of Edo, a large catfish
stealthily peeks through the lattice windows to observe
the prosperity of a thriving pleasure quarter.
When a kamuro (young attendant) spots it and whispers,
an oiran (courtesan) rushes out and tries to
capture it by force, but the catfish slips away,
wriggling through and escaping capture.
So she says, "Hey, quickly bring
a gourd!"
A quick-witted young man says, "This will
definitely hold it down" and brings a sake bottle.
With no trouble at all, they manage to restrain it.
"How strange!" they say, and looking closely, they see it's
a Kashima sake bottle.

Prostitute: "Hey, you are really too
terrible! Just the other day you suddenly
went wild and caused a big commotion.
The shop and
the second floor -
all at once
you twisted and destroyed everything.
It makes my head spin!
How inconsiderate of you."

your spirit
will probably become
