廿一日年始之通御祝儀御礼有之来酉年始ゟ 御本丸登 城之面々
西御丸へも登 城可有之也并参勤之節 西御丸へも献上物被仰出候
諸大名歳暮之御内書翌酉二日出候節 西御丸へ献上之御奉書初而出ス

乗邨再按に此書は元野垣氏の蔵書也今の鉄之助ゟ四代先の
吉右衛門と云し父は濃州高須ゟ養子に来る人ニて其家元より記
念ニ送たる物と聞ぬ尾州家の御城使を勤し人にて有之故記録
せし物とそ都合十巻にありしを上の五巻《割書：則此書也｜》鈴木氏に送りたる
かいかゝせしか今はなしとそ末の五巻は今野垣氏に秘蔵あり

二十一日 年始の通り御祝儀御礼があった。来酉年始より御本丸に登城の面々は西御丸へも登城することとなった。また参勤の節には西御丸へも献上物をするよう仰せ出された。
諸大名歳暮の御内書が翌酉二日に出された節、西御丸への献上の御奉書が初めて出された。

乗邨再按：この書は元々野垣氏の蔵書である。今の鉄之助より四代前の吉右衛門といった父は美濃国高須より養子に来た人で、その家元より記念に送られた物と聞いている。尾州家の御城使を勤めた人であったので記録したものである。都合十巻にあったのを、上の五巻《すなわちこの書である》を鈴木氏に送ったか、いかがしたか今はないという。末の五巻は今野垣氏に秘蔵されている。
《朱筆注記：乗邨が鈴木氏に贈ったという上の五巻はすなわちこの書であろうか。本文に書いてあるが、これは野垣氏に伝えられた五巻の内である。宝永より末は巻百二十、二十一に写し置き、合わせ見るべし》
英語訳
21st day: New Year congratulations and thanks were offered as usual. From the beginning of the coming year of the Rooster, those who normally attend the main palace will also attend the West Palace. Additionally, it was proclaimed that tribute offerings should also be made to the West Palace during sankin attendance.
When the year-end private letters to the various daimyo were issued on the 2nd day of the following Rooster year, official letters regarding tribute to the West Palace were issued for the first time.

Jōson's second note: This book was originally in the collection of the Nogaki family. The father called Kichiemon, four generations before the current Tetsunosuke, was a person who came as an adopted son from Takasu in Mino Province, and I heard this was sent as a keepsake from his original family. Since he served as castle magistrate for the Owari house, he recorded these things. There were ten volumes in total, and the first five volumes <<namely this book>> were sent to the Suzuki family, or what happened to them, they are now lost. The last five volumes are now kept secretly by the Nogaki family.
<<Note in red ink: The first five volumes that Jōson says were given to the Suzuki family are probably this very book. Though written in the main text, this is among the five volumes transmitted to the Nogaki family. From Hōei onwards, the end is copied in volumes 120 and 121, and should be examined together>>
